Does anyone think this will be helpful as far as the deeming goes?

For Us, that would seem like the 64,000 Dollar Question.

    I don't really Know?

I just wish that a Candidate could have been chosen that Didn't have so many Ties to Drug Companies.

I am a long time pain management patient and am wondering what is the recent uproar over opiate medications about? Oxycontin and others in that class were reformulated years ago to make them much less appealing for abuse. The delivery system was changed so that a person could no longer crush them up to get 12 hours worth of medication all at once. In fact, most of them became much less effective for chronic pain patients as well who are using them as prescribed. I'm quite sure they're going to make things even more difficult than it already is for those of us who have a legitimate need :(

I'm really tired of all this regulation BS. People who abuse substances will always find things to abuse.

I don't think that the fact that he consulted for, among other BPs, Johnson & Johnson (Nicorette) and Pfizer (Chantix, Nicotrol) bodes well.

    Complete Agree.

And I Don't Think it bodes well for the FDA as a whole to have Anyone in a Leadership Position (at any Level) that has Financial ties that Mr. Califf does.

In typical government fashion, they are trying to stop the rising trend of H addiction by overly regulating legal pain medication. Because it's a "gateway."

Of course it is. I have had pancreatitis for 11 years. I'm sure any day now I'll be driving around Toledo looking for some of that other stuff.

That's like finding a head of the SEC that wasn't an executive for a major BANK

No. He hates e-cigs with a passion and vowed to ban them. He's a total ANTZ--of the worst kind.
