Christmas is so wonderful it is just about MAGICAL.

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)"

For the rest of the week through Friday the 26th submit a favorite Christmas story of something special you were given or gave to others. If you want, snap a holiday pic too! I will go through the submissions in the thread and hand out a half dozen or so cool little kits to thank our customers for another wonderful year! This is not vape related but if you want to make your story vape related, feel free.

It was Christmas 1994. My wife and I had been dealing with my ex and our kids for most of the year. We had also been dealing with my wife's disablility from a injuries in a car accident. Needless to say with the cost of lawyers and so forth it was going to be a very lean Christmas for us as my wife wasn't working, my 3 children were now living my wife and our child. As part of the holidays at work we always volunteer to deliver Christmas baskets and help at the local Salvation Army Christmas givaway. It was friday December 23 and we were off work for the holiday as Christmas Eve and Christmas was on the weekend that year. I get a phone call from my boss and he ask if we are going to be home for a while. I tell him yes and he says he'll be there in 30 minutes and he told me to make the kids stay inside when he gets there. He arrives in the van from work which I thought was strange, but he blows the horn and waves for the wife and I to come out there. We made the kids stay in the house and we go out to the van. He opens the door and inside are bags full of toys. Seem he knows the guy that was running the program at the Salvation Army and when he heard about how everything we had been through that year he insisted that my boss bring us the same items that others in their program were getting that year. All I can say was that four children had a much merrier Christmas that year then we had or could have provided for them. Since that time my wife and I always try to do something for someone in need during the holidays. You have to remember this was before "pay it forward" or "random acts of kindness" were even catch phrases.
Merry Christmas Everyone at GotVapes.

This is something I have done for many years and do it all year round - I donate blood and platelets through the Armed Services Blood Program (ASBP). Even though I give throughout the year I always make the effort to provide a donation around the holidays as there is usually a shortage of donors at this time and lessens the available blood supply. I first donated blood in boot camp at the age of 18 but the importance of this came out and made me think hard about after a couple incidents about 12 years ago. The first one was a lady was involved in a serious car wreck when a drunk driver crossed into her lane - they put out emergency calls for my blood type - went in and gave - she pulled through. The second one and the one that really got me was almost a year later - the blood center called me directly - a new born baby was having serious problems and needed immediate surgery and they didn't have enough blood on hand. 30 minutes later I had a needle in my arm. About a week later I heard the baby was doing well. Ever since then I go in pretty regular - sometimes it's blood and other time it's platelets.

A quote from our blood centers website:
"It is the seat of blood operations and the sole source of blood products for the entire U.S. Pacific Command's eight medical treatment facilities. In addition, the ASBBC provides blood product service support to various ships and operations across the Pacific Theater. The blood supplied by the center directly supports the health and welfare of over 175,000 active duty service members, Department of Defense civilians, and dependents across the region."
ASBP: U.S. Pacific Command Armed Services Blood Bank Center, Okinawa, Japan

Well this won't be a winner but when I read this thread this memory came to me.

A few years ago back in VT my wife and I had a small apartment that was barely big enough for the two of us. I was working at a hotel and My boss had hired J1 students from Thailand to work at the hotel and they were living in one of the rooms. My boss always brought the J1s out to his house for Christmas dinners. As Christmas got closer I noticed the girls were getting sad, and just chalked it up to being home sick. Then the day before Christmas I found out my boss was going out of town and the girls were going to be stuck alone in their hotel room for the holiday. Now in a lot of towns it's not a big deal but in Vermont back then even the gas stations were closed.

It was the day before Christmas and my wife and I were broke. Our dinner was a roast big enough to feed the two of us. I'm still no sure how, but we managed to pick up a bigger roast, and all the trimmings for the J1s and Anna was able to get to the stores to buy them presents before closing. Christmas morning we went to the hotel, picked up the girls, and brought them home. It was very cramped in our tiny apartment, but they both cried a few times from being happy and anna and I made a couple of good friends and memories that day.

It was close to Christmas and raising my daughter was not easy on my own especially around the holidays. One day I was carrying my laundry in and saw a woman in a big fur coat..she asked me if I knew where bla bla lived..I said "that's me". I opened my door and she and her husband carried box after box of food in, even a turkey! I said.."but I never asked anyone for help"..they just smiled. I'll never know how this came about but we sure had a Merry Christmas and were so thankful!!

I feel one should give to others unselfishly throughout the entire year, not just this 'Holiday' season. Be the gift one of a priceless smile placed on another's face, your open arms, a shoulder to lean on, the warmth of your heart, a hand up. Sharing your Love doesn't have to be costly, we ALL have that gift to give, be free with it, touch someones heart and create the memory that will live on Forever
