All these old people...don't you know vaping is only for young, cool, hipsters?? I didn't even know you guys knew how to use computers... (that was sarcasm by the way, I wish they had a font for that)

I'm gonna have to get you guys to talk to my grandparents who still smoke...I've been trying to get them to switch, but no luck. According to them, I was only able to switch because I only smoked for 10 years.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your journey!!!
send them this way,, there are some very persuasive folks at ECF.

Yup! Took to smoking "properly" when I was 14 back in 1964 and practised it assiduously til six months ago.

Like many I followed the Mark Twain's path - "I make it a rule never to smoke when asleep and never to refrain when awake."

Vaping changed all that and showed me it was possible, great even, to live without tobacco.

Welcome aboard!

1949 signing in. Vaping has kept my daughter and me from going back to smoking. We quit, cold turkey, around 10 years ago, but the desire and cravings never left. Around 4 years ago, stress and cravings were making it seem more and more desirable to start smoking again. Enter ecigarettes. The desire to start smoking again exited the day we tried our first disposable ecigs. We are still happily ex-smokers, and enjoying every minute of it.

The funny thing is that even though my daughter and her boyfriend are much more tech savvy than I am (hey, when I started working, the IBM Selectric typewriter was the hot item in office equipment. I am completely self-taught on computers, smart phones, etc.), since I am retired and on ECF quite a bit, they tend to consult me when it comes to vape gear.

Have fun. Get familiar with your equipment. Experiment to find the pg/vg ratio, nicotine level, flavors, and coil ohms that work for you with what you have. This will all stand with you in good stead when and if you decide to move up.

Best wishes, and Welcome to ECF.

Show them this thread. I smoked for over 45 years. Quit easily and painlessly over four years ago, thanks to e-cigarettes.

Welcome @harleymi .
Your taste buds probably need a 2-3 months of healing so don't think much on taste in vaping for a bit. Go with strong, blunt flavors like a mint, etc.

At this point, just get your nic needs settled. I am thinking 18mg or 24mg without sub-ohming. Let your body tell you when to vape. Same feeling as when you need a cig. Sit the vaporizer just out of sight. Let your body tell you. Take 4-6 draws and wait for the next urge.

Take it wherever you go and have spares. I had a complete system as a spare. I permitted no excuses for buying cigs because I ran out of juice, battery dead, dropped it and broke it, left it on the roof of the car and drove to the store, no excuses, have a spare.

Good luck!
