Hi and thanks for the add, started smoking in 1965 (when I was 13) and quit in 2010 (was up to 2 1/2 packs a day). I live in Southeast Michigan. I do have COPD and I'm not worried about vaping with it. Need something to give me a better taste in my mouth instead of sipping on Mountain Dew all day long (need to lose some weight). I have ordered a joyetech EGO AIO online which should be delivered tomorrow.

Welcome to the ECF!

I'm another 1952 baby. I also have COPD (though mine's very mild) from smoking for many years.

I don't have an AIO myself. However, in a conversation with the owner of Nude Nicotine about a week ago...he highly recommended it! Said he gives a kit as a gift to friends, who want to switch from smoking to vaping. He thinks it's the BEST device on the market now, for people who want a similar experience to smoking, as far as how it hits. So, I'd think you made a wise decision!

Vaping helped me get off a 42-year 1 - 1 1/2 PAD habit, and I love it! I hope it gives you similar satisfaction, too!

Another former heavy smoker here...2.5-3.5 ppd. Vaping saved me point blank. I've heard good things about the AIO and the Innokin T18 and T22. Make sure your Nicotine level is up high enough. ..Lots of places are only carrying 3mg, 6mg, and 12mg. These days. I needed 24mg. When I started Vaping and have gradually went down to 8-10. Best of luck and if I'm doubt about anything just ASK. This forum is fantastic and very well known for its willingness to help newcomers who are attempting to put down the coffin nails. All the best - David

Another senior stopping by to say hi(waving). Glad you are here and decided to get rid of those cancer sticks. Was a heavy smoker also and I feel like the rest of us, that ecigs literally saved my life. I have no doubt that if I hadn't stopped smoking when I did, I probably would not be here on this earth anymore or praying I wasn't.
Also wanted to say to increase those mountain dews(or whatever liquids you drink) to keep you from getting dehydrated. Vaping does tend to dry out the membranes so this is very important.

Other than that, look around, ask questions, have fun. Always someone here 24/7.
:)

All these old people...don't you know vaping is only for young, cool, hipsters?? I didn't even know you guys knew how to use computers... (that was sarcasm by the way, I wish they had a font for that)

I'm gonna have to get you guys to talk to my grandparents who still smoke...I've been trying to get them to switch, but no luck. According to them, I was only able to switch because I only smoked for 10 years.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your journey!!!

Have them read this thread. LOL
And who do you think paved the way to how the computers are today? It sure wasn't the young, cool, hipsters of today......we were young and hip in our time too. :)
