Developed a bad case of canker soars, so bad I could barely vape until I found some info. on over the counter remedies' ingredients, propylene glycol and menthol, so I started vaping menthol on top of tons of ice and ice water till I'm feeling better today finally.

My concern is with the steel drip tips on my mini protank II 2, & iClear 30BCD w/ swivel tip. The constant taste of these steel tips in my mouth are horrid and I believe I may have an internal sensitivity to steel Drip Tips. So I cut up a couple of old E-Cig Cart condoms to use as tip covers which has helped alleviate further irritation of the sores & further eruptions of new ones. I keep sanitizing those with peroxide too.

I've only been vaping since July 22 when I stopped smoking cigs and need helping suggestions on Drip Tips for my tanks that are not expensive. :vapor:

Hi

You might not have a sensitivity, lots of people can taste stainless steel tips and don't like them. There are tips made out of a lot of different materials. What sort of tank are you using and what kind of juice? I'm asking about the juice because if you vape "tank cracker," even if you are using a glass tank and acrylic drip tip shouldn't be used (the bottom melts).

What colors do you like? What's your budget?

Indeed, I could never use the driptips that came on my Mini PT IIs, they all taste like hot metal. Bleah. But, since the Mini PT II has that gun-metal color for the base, I got a gun-metal drip tip for it, and it's MUCH better. However that gun-metal driptip is now being used on a gun-metal Smok UDCT, which I really like a lot better than the mini PT IIs anyway. :D

Try a Delrin drip tip

Yup! I use Delrin or stainless steel. Real stainless steel. The drip tips that come with Kanger (and other) early clearos (non-removable) is not stainless steel. It's some cheap alloy that drives me mad, too.

Other materials, like glass and ceramic, are OK too, but I prefer softer drip tips.

The most comfy drip tips, for me, are silicone, but since they are so soft and squishy they pop out (and get lost) easily. I do like the look of stainless (and titanium!) but my overall preference is for glass and ceramic lately.
I have picked up a few "hybrid" drip tips - SS core/base with an injection molded tip - that I like quite a bit.

Also, it may have nothing to do with the drip tips you're using. Mouth ulcers are very common in people who quit smoking. Cinnamon is also a common cause of mouth ulcers and throat and lung irritation. Please read Roly's post and see if any of those problems apply to you.

And if that doesn't resolve your issue, you might also consider if you might have a sensitivity/reaction to PG or potentially some flavorings. Canker sores seem fairly common for those those with sensitivity to PG. Good luck!

this same type of reaction happened to me at about 2-3 weeks of vaping cheap 50/50 pg/vg juice. other symptoms included irritation of the gums, tongue, and throat, and my teeth became sensitive to hot and cold.

i took a break for a couple days, and then switched to 100%vg juice. that seemed to do the trick for me.

Really appreciate everyone's supportive input & information, I have to look into more closely. 3 Acrylic Dip Tips came in from Ebay today and they fit the mini pro II fine so I know now the 510s are good for it, not good for the iClear 30BCD. Hear you Ocelot, regarding acrylic tips melting on glass tanks. I probably wind up with derlin drip tips. Thanks for the links everyone.

Get a pyrex tip, only non metal tip that is easily cleanable and wont break.

Depends on the thickness of the pyrex; I broke one recently just from my ARO Winder falling over on it, and 900mAh Winders aren't heavy at all, they're very slender. But the pyrex in that driptip was very thin, and it just busted into a million pieces. Some of my other pyrex tips are quite thick, but would probably still break if I dropped the mod on the tile floor (as I'm prone to!) -- even plastic ones have broken from the mod hitting the tile floor.

Well my mouth is all better today and I won't be sucking on any steel again. Got lots of good much need support to get me through what to me was a nightmare, so thank you very much. Will be doing the acrylic I have, as I acquire new drip tips, the natural stone, jade, Derlin flat tips look more comfortable, Pyrex glass of course, even some ceramic. Truth be told I kind of like the rubber Ecig cartridge condoms slipped over the metal because they are soft and I can kind of squish it as I vape so my vape is more center concentrated in my mouth as I'm not a lung hitter as much as a french out the nose type.... dragon vape. I like tasting and aromatic experiences. So the silicone drip tips look like a winner too ;) What the heck just collect them like a cracker jack prize.
