Serpent Mini base wont unscrew.

New Serpent mini and the base will NOT unscrew. I've tried everything but it seems to be frozen in place. Afraid to try too hard. Don't want to break.

I've contacted the place I purchased, but in the meantime, any ideas?

Use a rubber band or silicone pad to hold glass and insert a thin shaft screwdriver through one air hole to the other side. Try to unscrew that way.

Try putting in the freezer for 10 minutes then do what @Jonner said above.

Already tried the pad thing but I'm afraid to use a screwdriver on it. Might not be able to return if I damage, even slightly.

Try putting rubber bands on base & use pliers. Has worked for me with no damage to base.

The Serpent SMM has independent airflow holes, so the screwdriver will not go from airhole to airhole.

Sorry about that, you are correct, I didn't think of that.

To the OP: these will come in handy for any stuck bases in the future, ceramic tweezers on one end (one of mine snapped, as you can see), and plastic pliers (grabby things) on the other. Plus they are great for pulsing and getting the hot spots out of your coil, since they won't short it as you strum it:

I was just going to suggest that item. Those are great for unwrenching wrenched bases..

Suggest getting two of them, one to hold steady and one to unwrench.. the backsides of these ceramic tweezers are made specifically for opening up difficult to open tanks.

As a beside, always use some e juice to lube up your o rings prior to putting your tank together and filling it. This keeps everything nice and slippery..

Don't know why I didn't think of this. I do it for every other o-ring/seal I've ever dealt with. (oil filters, etc...)

My goto fix for stuck tank sections is a pair of rubber pot holder thingies from the Dollar store. Wrap one around each part and twist. Works every time.
