Sharing my first build

I started vaping about a month ago and yesterday did my first build. Not pretty but it hits nicely. I think I'm going to enjoy building lol.

My only advice would be a little less cotton in your wicks. It swells quite a bit once soaked and can actually perform worse by choking the coil. It should be tight enough to pass through the coil without bunching up and you're golden. Something I learned awhile back with cotton is that less is more for sure.
But it looks like you are well in your way to some very nice builds! Have fun and be safe!!

Those wraps are nice and pretty for your first crack! I love it. And like a lot of other users said, less is more on that cotton. I'm in the same boat as you, I'm waiting for that slow boat from China (A.K.A. fasttech) to show up with my RBA/RDA stuff and my first mech so I can start building. While I'm on that wait, I shall buy all the other necessities for building (wick, wire, multimeter, new VCT5s just in case I decide to venture into the sub-ohm world in the future, possibly a nicer battery charger, tweezers, pliers, some drill bits to wrap around, an ohm checker).

Thanks folks. I think I'm hooked on doing it myself now. Just ordered a bunch of tools, wire, and a torch from Amazon. Who lied and said vaping is cheaper than smoking? LOL

Great work for first time, keep an eye on those 'legs' at the start and end of your coils, they might 'hot leg' which will give you a dry hit sort of vape.

You don't really need a torch. I used one for the first couple of builds when I was using 28 gauge, but at a few builds found that if I got my wraps right I didn't need it. Definitely don't need it with the 24 gauge, but it wouldn't hurt to have it in the kit.


Yeah, I'm still waiting to see the money saving, LoL

Not sure if it's any established description of anything. Was just referring to cotton, really.

No offense at all, tho! There's just this friendly little forum war going between mesh and cotton users.
