Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone my birthday was on the 26th though but I’ll still take it I haven’t been here in a while. I built myself a gym for outside made the foundation then built a deck on it and got a awesome all enclosed canopy to fit on it. Now I don’t have to use my wooden bench on the side walk to work out. I bought an actual commercial bench to use and all I need are the padded foam tiles that are coming from amazon to go all over the space .

that is so true. MY guy Joe came from my daughter. She got him at a pet store because he was the last kitten out of a litter that no one would pick. He grew to 12-13 weeks and then they dumped 5-6 more 8 week old kittens in with him. All the 8 week old were getting picked so my daughter got Joe. She named him Bentley. He was grumpy and aloof. He did not like her much and really did not like her 7 year old son. I took him. We fell in love. Joe does tricks for me and just loves me. He flourished with me. People always talk about how much personality he has now. He always wants to sit outside with me and always goes up to greet a stranger. If I ask him for a kiss from across the room he gets to wherever I am and gives me several head butts (his kisses)Joe is just my guy.
That was my Monk. I’ve loved all my fur babies, but he had a giant piece of my soul. I honestly believe he sent Sammy to us. I didn’t think I could love another dog as much as I did him. My heart was just sucked dry when he passed. And didn’t think much of it, since Sam was supposed to be my hub’s pup. I’m his human now

Savannah is in my prayers and thoughts.

    Thank you so much...

    For an update:

She is awake and alert now, but she doesn't remember the accident.

They are planning on doing hip surgery on her "first thing" in the week this week. She has broken her hips they said in 5 places, so they are going in and fixing that, although she'll be non-ambulatory for 3 months after...

But, she does seem to be doing okay, according to her mom. No one else can visit her due to COVID, which sucks..

I'm glad she's awake and herself, @Opinionated. I hate to think of the enduring effects of all those hip breakages, though. She's so young, she should heal well, but I daresay there will be lifelong consequences for her.

I think even having kids at this point will be a challenge for her...

Had I been younger my lower back injury, even after they did surgery, would have prevented/severely complicated pregnancy.... (thank God I'd already had my children)

So I can't imagine what 5 breaks that need pinned will cause later on.. that's gonna be hard, even at her age.

Can't imagine natural births, but caesareans might make children possible, I suppose.

I see bad arthritis in her future, at the least. Such an absolutely rotten thing to have happened to her.

In 1978 I was driving a full sized van and was broadsided by a dump truck doing 70+ mph. I have no recollection of ever being hit. It was lights out for me. The sheriffs report said the guy blew past a stop sign. Per witness reports the van was launched into the air, came down in a farmers field and ended up nearly 50 yards away. My van was completely totaled and mushed.

They helicoptered me to a trauma 1 hospital. And of course the only time I get a helicopter ride I don't remember any of it. I was in the ICU for a while. They say I was in and out with a severe grade 3 concussion. I was very heavily bruised everywhere. Everything hurt. Back then they couldn't give you any pain meds with a concussion. Thankfully no broken bones other than my nose (lol). I was told it was a complete miracle I survived. Many months later my dad showed me a photo of the van and the dump truck. I threw up.

That's not the first time I've been broadsided by someone who blew past a stop sign. That's a story for another day. :)

I must have been a Cat somewhere along the line and they let me carry over some of the 9 lives into this current life of mine.

Dump trucks are the worst they will do anything to get to their destination faster. Most truck drivers paid by the load rather than by the hour drive like maniacs.

I had something similar happen to me although not as horrible. Driving through Angeles Crest Forest in the late 80's and fell asleep at the wheel. I would have gone off a cliff but instead I hit a CHP (California Highway Patrol) I was smashed down under the dashboard and had to be extracted out of the car with the jaws of life and helicoptered to a hospital. I was in traction when I came too about 4 days later and did not remember anything. I knew I was in trouble, because as I came around I remembered enough to know what I had on me (and in me) and I figured I was probably going to arrested at any time. So I unhooked the traction, had a friend pick me up (he carried me out of the hospital) and home I went (this was before I accomplished sobriety). Anyway home for a day or two and realized I could not walk, at all, could not get myself to the bathroom or anything. I was also feeling the pain because now there were no nurses serving me pain meds. I had a torn up knee and a dislocated hip. Of course I had to go back to the hospital (tail between my legs) and get re-admitted. Same friend carried me back in (I later married him) sure enough a few days later they came in with charges and had me sign them but I was not under arrest just facing some heavy charges. I was a total A__ in the hospital, kept taking my leg out of traction and the DR told me I would regret it one day, I poo-pood him, not listening (2016 and had to have knee replacement as arthritis had set in so bad) I eventually ran from all the charges and stayed gone for 7 years until the statue of limitations kicked out the charges and I became free because I had never been convicted.
Guy that carried me out of the hospital followed me when I ran and I eventually married him. Crazy life. And that was only what happened in 1988. I have about 10 years of those stories. Thank you GOD for sobriety.

Yep, that and probably thinks ... jeez it's been thousands of years when are these kids gonna grow up already. Brats!

Better yet, unless (we all) change and become like little children.
    Sorry, couldn't take a pass on 18:3. :D

If we wrote our honest and open Life stories I would buy each of your books. I totally love hearing and listening to peoples stories and about their lives. I find joy in it, especially how folks overcome their personal challenges. It makes it all like somehow OK, I think and feel. The more we share the more I think we all realize we are not so different afterall. Well, I am a weirdo but I embrace my weirdness.

If only we knew a copy editor. Hmmm. :D

It will suck big time for her. But with the right attitude even 5 hip fractures won't keep her down for long
