Well Gran Tourismo went online, and I'm too anti social to play online games. I've always dug Need for Speed until Criterion took over. Those years sucked as they attempted to meld their IP (Burnout) with NFS. Payback is as close to the best NFS there will be for a bit. Loved Most Wanted.
I once Managed GameStop, which used to have what amounted to a mini E3 every year for us. I had met a lot of developers, enjoyed talking to them. EA sucks, no doubt, but I have managed to look past the publishers at times to find some good games. EA will nickle and dime you if you let them. I ignore the games that use that model.
I once met the guys that produced/developed Splinter Cell. Spent about 2 hours playing demo levels and discussing the mechanics. These guys amazed me with the level of love they had for their game.
Sony slashes prices every year at Xmas, we stock up and play those games until the following year. This year we managed to buy 2 years of PSN for just over what 1 year would cost. The only thing I will spend full price on will be the sequel to The Last of Us.
