Shooting/Popping juice on RDA?

Here's the search I did before posting this question: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/search.php?searchid=21883402

Didn't see a result that covered the topic. I did a "dragon coil" build on my nimbus clone and after wicking it performed really, really well for 2 days. This gif was with 70PG/30VG, 12mg nic right after getting it done: http://gfycat.com/NearCreepyGreathornedowl

These are the same coils after dry burning to clean them and with 50/50, 6mg, and what I *tried* for the exact same wicking process: http://gfycat.com/SplendidAshamedIndigobunting I thought it would/should be better vapor production on that blend but, as you can see, it just kinda shoots all over.

That "popping" juice and lack of vapor production compared to the first gif is kinda driving me crazy. I use two Sony VTC4 18650 batteries and both were fully charged to 4.18V when recording these. Ohm check on both wicks came out 0.71, Sigelei 13 mech.

In your opinions, what would make the first one vape so well and the 2nd just shoot/pop juice like that? I'm totally at a loss. Thanks in advance for any help.

1) Water or alcohol still in wick after cleaning....little isolated drops turning to steam that were trapped inside the wick.
2) Sometimes happens when wick strands break.
3) Possible (just remotely possible) unmixed stuff in your juice.

Note username. lol.

It was the main cause of my stopping lurking and signing up to ECF so I could ask a similar question (with standard atomizers). The answers I received were along the lines of ..."Dude! Those are THE BEST atomizers." Etc. IDK if I ever really got a full set of answers either. lol.

Anyway, the above are my best guesses. I've not fully figured it out either. It must be either something snapping or something under pressure giving way with some small but above normal force. AKA Spitting. The same way water will "spit" when it contacts hot oil.

Also dry burning on a wick can cause filaments to snap.
