Short Wick Life Problem SS or Silica

Wondering if anyone else has this experience. I use a Provari Mini primarily with an A7 or an IGO-L rebuildable; wick set doubled over 2 mil silica & 4 to 5 wraps of 32 ga Kanthal. I drip through about 1 battery a day and find after 3 days or so, I need to make a new wick set up to avoid that burnt wet nasty make-me-cough taste. The wick gets all blackened & hard. Dry air burning doesn't do a whole lot. I primarily use AVE Bodas Bounty, Backwoods Brew Smoke & Expresso I may get a little longer life when I have the patience to set up my SS wick AGA-T Plus; maybe 4 or 5 days before I need a new SS wick. Any comments, advice, similar experiences is well appreciated. Thanks.

life on wicks will depend on your juice buddy the darker the juice the less life it will have, the cleaner and clearer the better life. Also after a little while try dry burning it to clean it once in a while before there is too much build up. hope this helps

Thanks. I guess I've been waiting too long to try burning it clean. Kind of wish there was a juice as satisfying as Boda's Bounty that didn't clog it so soon. I actually stopped using another favorite because I couldn't get more than a day or two's use out of it with silica or SS wicks (Copper Creek Coffe - all PG & really dark)
