Well I'm still pretty new to building coils, but yeah, I seem to be getting the hang of it, for the full-sized; when I stumbled over that cotton-nest idea yesterday in one of the threads I was reading, I went and read the guy's blog to get the full details, built a brand new coil and wicked it in that cotton-nest fashion, and man, that is awesome. My first try with the nano, the wick was admittedly quite inadequate, not filling the coil at all, so I figured, I'll get a coil/wick that's really working great in the full sized and then try that in the nano. But still got that awful burnt taste.

When I first started rebuilding coils, it was for my T3S collection; I had been trying P&C yarn off and on for the flavor wick, but it gave me a lot of dry hits; when I first tried using the cotton yarn *in* the coil, dry hit city! So I went back to silica and then tried ekowool, and those worked much better in the tiny T3S heads. When I got the kayfun I tried those, but wasn't getting much better flavor than I got from the rebuilt T3S coils, so I went ahead and got the organic cotton balls, and that made worlds of difference in flavor. But the small size of the nano seems to be doing the same thing the tiny T3S heads did, focusing the heat so much it just scorches the cotton. After my last try with the nano, I took it all apart, and the wick looked just fine -- except for right where the coil touches, and there, it was dark brown -- burnt. Even though it hadn't been burnt at all when I put the nano on, because I checked it, and it was fine. So it seems that having an entirely separate head setup, with ekowool, might be my best option if I want any use out of the nano.

Keep trying with the cotton. I build mine all the same for nano and full size. Watch this video. It's the simplest way to build and wick a Kayfun and it works. I build all my Kayfuns essentially like this. I do not use a torch at all. I heat and squeeze the coil on the MOD.

The wicking is easy and allows you to avoid dry hits.

It's hard to mess this build up. But it works fantastically.
