Shorty 510 to 801 not working on my vv Gripper

I gor my VV Gripper in the mail the other day with a shorty 510 to 801 adapter from electronicstix.com. After about a day of using, it the adapter is now having problems. The adapter will work in my kgo with the 801 fusions that I have, but not in my vv gripper. The gripper will read low ohms if screwed on tightly or will not connect. The gripper itself is working with other cartos but I don't know what the problem is with the adapter.
