Should ALL reviews be compared to the Provari?

Nah, I never threw money away on a Provari, either. Just after I bought the second sigelei V3 as a back-up for $42 (body only) I bought a new Samsung 24" monitor. I won't compare the monitor and V3 to a Provari although they cost the same.

Uuugh. There *is* a reason to return to the South. I thought I could be satisfied staying right here in my Mountains and would never miss a thing from anywhere else I've lived or been. Grits and butter... *sigh*... I guess I'll be filing a flight plan soon.

I like the idea of reliability and quality, I would be the first in line to pre-order a Provari IF.....

    1) they make a box mod...come on guys, it can't be that hard to put the electronics in a box with a 18650

    2) go to the expense of more than one button....my computer mouse has multiple buttons, TV remote -far more than one button, neither forces me to use a menu to do simple functions.

    3) and most important, a waffle pattern finish, covering.....:toast:

That would be the key thing for me too. VW I can do without - I think it's an advantage, but not a 'deal-breaker'.

Single button interfaces just seem like far too much work though.

I actually think you could pull off a good two button interface. If you had one button for 'fire', and another one for 'menu', which you could click through multiple different settings with, and then use either button to increment or decrement the setting, and wait for a few seconds to drop back to 'fire mode', I could see it working.
