Should I get something with a tobacco taste?

I have been trying different flavors but my most used is called Slims from My Freedom Smokes. It is supposed to taste just like either Virginia Slims or Misty Menthols ( I smoke the 120's). I am still smoking analog cigarettes and really the juice does not taste like a menthol cigarette. It is good, don't get me wrong, but I am wondering if tobacco flavored juices are what I need to look at that contain some sort of menthol taste to them so I will have better luck getting away from the analog cigs. I know that my problem is also a psychological one! ;) The feel of the e-cig setup that I have just doesn't feel the same as holding a real cigarette. I will type or play games on my computer with a cig hanging out of my mouth or being held between 2 fingers. This is a feeling that I have grown accustomed to over the years. This will take some time getting used to the feel of an e-cig.

I'm a firm believer in the concept that what really helps a smoker give up analogs entirely is that you have to like vaping better than smoking. If what you're vaping tastes so good that you can't enough of it then you probably won't even be interested in smoking anymore.

Your problem might be that you are trying to imitate the taste of smoking. I suggest trying something that sounds really good to you. An apple pie flavor or maybe a chocolate mint vape. Just whatever you think sounds delicious.

As far as the cig hanging out of your mouth, this can be done with some of the small 65mm cig-a-like batteries with a cartomizer attached. They are a little heavier but it doesn't take much to get used to it. The cartomizers can be refilled with your favorite liquid and you can even buy blank cartomizers.

In my opinion though, it's the flavor that you should consider focusing on. There are many, many, testimonials on this forum from those who started out trying to imitate the taste of smoking only to discover that they only succeeded when they switched to fruit or desert vapes. I'm one of those people myself.

There's nothing wrong with tobacco flavored liquids if that is what you really like. One of my currant favorites is considered a tobacco liquid.

Try experimenting with some other flavors. You might be surprised how much you like them.

I have a French Vanilla that I love. Nice and strong and really tastes good. I will try using it more often. I just ordered some liquids from Ahlusion and will have to try those out. One is a Chocolate Orange flavor. I know that others that attempt to quit smoking turn to food! So I guess if I get really sweet yummy flavors that is the substitute for going the food route! ;)

What others have said.

If you are looking for a 1:1 match between analogs and vaping taste-wise, you are setting yourself up for failure. As others have suggested, experiment with flavours until you find one that you enjoy. The last time I really craved an analog was the second before I found a juice I actually liked. After that, I was riding the flavour highway. Fruit vapes, dessert vapes, sandwich vapes! There are so many tastes to be had.

I was 2+ packs a day 6 months ago. Today, I can't stand the smell, and the thought of ever tasting analog again makes me gag.

Good move.:thumb: You're on the right track and although I've never had the pleasure of sampling anything from Ahlusion, they are an excellent choice based on what I've read. That Chocolate Orange sounds good and I'll bet it is.

You'll find your sweet spot. I just know it.

I was a pack a day menthol smoker for 50 years. when I started vaping I was using menthol juice. I soon found other flavors and now I don't like the menthol. I had some juice that was tobacco flavored menthol and I couldn't stand it. I don't think you can get a tabaco flavored juice that tastes quite like a cigarette. I would advise you to branch out and try other flavors. I've got some bakery flavors that I enjoy and some sweet juices that I only vape on occasion. It does take a while until you decide what you might like best. Hang in there it gets easier as you get the hand of vaping. You might fine that you'll gradually cut down on the cigarettes as you get used to vaping. It took me a while and after 2 months I am down to one cigarette in the morning and am looking forward to getting rid of that one...Good Luck. :p

after experimenting a lot in six months, trying all kinds of tobacco flavors, other flavors, various VG/PG ratios, etc. For me i found that stronger flavors and a 50%PG blend works best for the throat hit, i found that throat hit matters most for me to stay off cigs and for me a throat hit makes me feel like i'm smoking-the type of flavor matters less as long as it's a flavor i like and it's flavorful and not weak, and having a complex flavor matters and keeps my taste buds interested. Also when i crave a cig i vape higher nic.

That makes sense to have different strengths on hand. I am a sugarholic so I am wondering if sticking to sweet things like dessert liquids would be the best way to go. I will try different ones and see what I find. I just don't want to go broke doing this. This could turn out to be more expensive than buying a carton of cigs every week! ;)

It could very well turn into a more expensive habit the first few weeks of being analog free. Soon after though, it evens out and then finally gets much less expensive. Then, 3 months from now your checking account is going to take another hit as you discover all the wonderful new toys and tanks out there. It will be twice as bad for you if you are a "gadget head" like many of us.

The important thing is that in the end, at the very least you will break even. Even more important is the fact that you will finally be able to breathe again!

Personally I stopped vaping solely due to bulldog vapor's Fudge Sludge. I discovered that vaping should become a whole new experience, not one to imitate smoking but to replace it. Try candy, dessert, bakery, ect. Whatever flavour you love most in the world look for that kind :D

The tobacco flavors never did anything for me so I moved on to flavors I liked. I'm a variety vapor - have to vary flavors throughout the day so I have a large selection collected. Some I like better than others, some I use every day and reorder a lot, and some I don't like at all but might use them once in a while.

My sister was a menthol smoker and she started out mixing menthol with fruits like raspberry or peach etc. but heavy on menthol. After a couple weeks, she's ready to cut back on the menthol and get more fruit flavor. Within another couple weeks, she'll likely quit all menthol. So far, she's one of my success stories and has done great with vaping to give up smoking.

I rather enjoyed the taste of tobacco in cigarettes (why, I now don't know) and thought I'd need to find that but it's like black coffee, none of the flavors taste like the real thing. Now, I wouldn't want them to!!

Hmmm so, for example, buy a fruit and a menthol liquid and mix them? That sounds interesting. The first 2 liquids I bought locally were a menthol and a caramel mocha. Both tasted pretty good. Then I went online to search for liquids to buy. I became hooked on My Freedom Smoke and have ordered several liquids from them. The Slims being the one that I thought would be most like smoking a real cigarette. I like their French Vanilla. Their Caramel Maccchiato is ok but I add more caramel as I do with the actual drink. I also like the Vanilla Cream caramel Coffee but also add more caramel to it. Their Chocolate Butterscotch leaves much to be desired. Even after letting it steep for a couple of weeks, the chocolate tastes bitter and not like chocolate at all. I frequent this site to see what others are buying and from which vendors. Hopefully I will find that "perfect" liquid that I can use all day every day and be satisfied enough to stay away from real cigarettes.

i spent a lot in the first 6 months trying various flavors, pg/vg ratios, etc. but now i've learned what i like and can just reorder those.
