trust me, if I had the resources I would! But I'm sure someone out there will have the idea of taking this big in the US. Having outlet stores all over the 50 states. Consistant, quality, safe and good products. They would be like Steve Jobs and a "green" RJ Reynolds rolled up into one.

So if there was something like that, wouldn't you want one in your neighborhood?

Volcano is pretty all over the place. The problem is the state of legal flux this whole thing is in. Few investors want to sink multi-millions of dollars into a venture without being sure of what they're going to run into in terms of Federal, and especially state, taxes and regulations. Every B&M e-cig and juice vendor, and even many of the on-line vendors, is taking a substantial risk. That's one reason "out of stock" is so common. No one wants to get stuck with a fortune in inventory when some state, or ten, decides that they can't ship it to their residents. Plus, no one wants to order 10,000 Lavatubes when the Lavatube 2 is liable to come out next month.

There are too many issues, from legal to manufacturing, in this industry for anyone to be comfortable making the massive investment it would take to have a widespread B&M presence.

The longer you vape, the more backups you acquire. I think I have 3 devices now I can fall back on, plus a few that need to be sent in for repair.

It also helps to make a big purchase of supplies when you can afford it and then use good "inventory management" when your stock starts depleting. I purchased 20 attys and 600ml of liquid a while back. When my supply of attys drops to 10, I order 10 more. When my liquid drops below 300ml, I order another 300ml. This ensures that any kind of temporary unavailability has no effect.

I also have a 240ml bottle of 100mg unflavored nicotine sitting in my freezer in case of a ban is ever put in place. I did the math a while back and IIRC that should be enough to mix a year or two worth of liquid. Plenty of time to find an alternative supply.

If you feel really adventurous, you can learn to build your own PVs. The parts to build a simple box mod only cost about $10. I went through a period where I was building (and breaking) a new box mod every couple of months.

You're kidding, right? A Bolt? A backup that uses a $0.50 horn switch? I don't think so. If you want a reliable backup that never fails, get the real thing, not the cheap Chinese knock-off. I've seen Bolts selling for $65+. That's totally ridiculous when you can get the genuine article for $85. And, it uses a commercial grade, million cycle switch, not one you can buy at madvapes for a buck or two.

Ah sailor... you will never get it.

It's funny, when I first started out, for my second time, mind you three months ago, with these e-cigarettes I was totally committed. Hell, haven't had a cig in three months, so that should say something. But I realized there is a problem. These things are just not readily available. Sure you can go to the gas stations and get those cheapo disposable ones, but those, in no way, can satisfy even an ultra, ultra light smoker!

So, I go online, get me a pretty good e-cig, get some e-juice from a cool vendor, then i'm off to the races, right? Meh, not really. Was ok, but there was something missing. Juice was fantastic, but the smoke wasn't great. what to do? I step up and order one of those multi voltage joints. I get the thing and now I'm satisfied to no end!!!! This is great. same drag as a cigaratte; same inhale, heck I can even practice making smoke rings now. I'm in cloud 9 for Christ sakes!! This is wonderful.

But then it happens.....

First my trusted juice vendor decides to take a months hiatus. Then about ten days later, after a wonderful time of vaping, my multi voltage vaping device decides, no mas, and kicks the bucket! Got a new juice vendor, two bottles of different stuff. One was great, the other not so great. Knocked the dust off my "starter kit" which now went from being ok, to not so ok......

So in the end what did I do.....

I decided to not let this set me back from being smoke free. So my determined self came here, researched different mods, and figured to buy two of the best VV's out there. One from each company (not mentioning names, this is my story, not their ;) ). If I'm going to have a backup, might as well make it a great one!!! ordered them sometime last week and now I'm just waiting, and waiting...and waiting.

Still haven't had a cig yet. I'm dealing with the starter kit, but I wonder....Will these things be worked out to the point that we can have ready access to the juices, cartos, and mods, when we want? Hell, go to Amazon.com and you can get something to you the very next day. Or if it's a matter of manufacturing and logistics, then come on guys, there has to be a way for this to be done so product is in and out the door, to the customers more efficiently. And for those devices that are DOA, or near DOA when they arrive to customers, some type of quality control needs to be pushed in those overseas factories to insure quality and safety (the two upgrades I ordered were made here in the US, the mod that died was from China). And by the way, the mod that crocked made a funny little pop when it expired.

So suffer I must, but it's things like this that cause some people to go back to the regular smokes. This process of e-cigarettes from vendor to client must try to strive for availability if not the same as your local 7-11 with your old favorite pack, at least make availability better.

Just a thought but I think your mod may be OK. It sounds like your carto may have bit the dust.

Somewhere out there
Stock up on favorite juices, if you like it, get 30 ml at least. For your favorite PV, have two. I have 2 GLV 2 SM plus back up Halo G6's and a pass thru ego. So I know I always have a back up for my back ups. Order enough cartos to last a couple months. I did that awhile back and it is great being stocked up. I even have unflavored nic on hand in case we ever can't buy nic juice online any more, I can add to it to no nic fav juices. Plus I have plenty of of DIY supplies and flavors. So I am pretty much set up for the long haul. Takes some time to do it, but it is worth being prepared.
I also advise getting a good PV that does not break down. They are a bit more expensive but worth it in the end as it will save you $'s from needing replacements. bnrk

Lessee right now, I have 7 devices I could potentially use and I have the parts to build three more when the mood strikes me. :) That's not counting the roughstack I just got my wife to start using.

WAIT!!! She gets to use my backups now too!!!

Okay right now I have 3.5 backups I could potentially fall back on and I have parts to make 1.5 more should the mood strike me.

This world is so intertwined in instant gratification. Often you can get vape supplies overnight too and its gonna cost ya. Whenever I get stuff from ebay or amazon it always takes longer by at least 3-5 days than my vape supplies. Just my personal experiences there.

Have more than one go to vendor if by some chance any close shop. So far none of the vendors I've used have closed shop. Perhaps rarely for a vacation or holiday but many are just 2 or 3 people and they need a break like anyone else. It's cottage industry so folks can either embrace and enjoy that or be a stick in the mud about it. I love it personally. So far I've experienced two DOA's, both being batteries, and both vendors handled it wonderfully. DOA's keep in mind are not the vendor's fault, but their manufacturer's. Buy from a reputable vendor that appears to have a good following and receiving DOA equipment is less likely and when it does happen seasoned vendors typically take care of it much better.

It's hard in the beginning I get that. You don't have a back-up supply yet and chances are you are working on it. In a matter of no time you'll have tons of extra juice, batteries, and cartomizers. Just relax, try some new vendors if the ones you are using right now aren't making you happy. Many companies in the vaping community not only want your buisness but truly appreciate it and you feel it.

If we're talking parts, I think I have parts left to build two more box mods. Plus, I could probably Frankenstein a few more devices together if I cannibalized the dead box mods I have laying around.
