Okay, I have a Sentinel on order, it's on a slow boat from China and may be here next month, but I've been secretly wanting a Magneto for a while now, and I just found out that TriangleVapes has them, with an adjustable center pin, and apparently the issue with the threads on the center tube has been fixed. They are saying not to order it with the RSST, but I don't have one, I have an AGA-T2, which should work okay on it, and they want only $40 for it!

Forty Bucks!

I can afford it, I want it, but my old man would not approve at all. I have their web page in a tab, and I keep looking at that Magneto and reading the reviews over.... while having firing button issues on my sigelei 24.

Anyone gotten one of these from TriangleVapes? Anyone use an AGA-T2 on it? Anyone know where TriangleVapes is located? I can't tell from their web page, and I don't want to wait a month for this to get here.

Thanks for posting this. I'm standing by too for the replies, because I've got one on my wish list. Saw it at my local B&M; it's a nice little unit, simple and sleek. Don't know if theirs has the adjustable pin, tho...

Would also like to know how it works with a ProTank...

Well I used a Protank on my mech for a while, and I found that it would go through coils pretty quick. I got an RBA as soon as I could so I didn't have to sit here vaping and rebuilding coils all the time.

I put it on my wishlist there too on TriangleVapes page, there was no way to add it to my cart, so I guess they are out of stock right now, which is not at all surprising given the price they are selling it for. I hope this doesn't turn out to be another ungettable thing, like the voltage meter.

my question is, why no RSST? they are made by the same manufacturer, why would smok not make them compatible? in truth, im sure they would work fine together. no genny has a higher effort vs reward ratio than an rsst. i also know many people with this exact set up that love it.

i personally would not get a magneto. if your coming from a sigelei, youll love it, but its not the best out there for the money imho.

Well I thought that a bit odd myself, especially since one of the reviewers of the Magneto on their page said he'd paired it up with an RSST, and was in vaping bliss. Hmmmmmm....

Hey Vaslovic, I have a question

I just looked at the Sentinel at fast tech
I have been thinking about getting a mech mod for my agaT2
just because most of the rebuild video's show around a 1.0 ohm coil

Sentinel looks nice I'm so tempted but the price almost seems too cheep
do you think this would be a good 1st mech for me

Also would the Panasonic NCR18650 Rechargeable 2900mAh 3.7V 18650 Li-ion Batteries be good with this mod

Well I am flattered that you asked me, but as I've yet to received that Sentinel, and since it's prolly on a junk in Hong Kong harbor still, I can't really recommend it having not had it in my hot little hands yet. Yes the price does seem pretty cheap, which was why I ordered it, and sometime next month I might have it and be able to tell you about it.

I figured if it's a cheap knock-off clone and it still works I've not wasted $12.45 on it. You can't really lose at that price, and how could it not work? How can they mess up a bottom button mech like that?

About the batteries, gosh, I just use AW IMR 18650's 2000 mAh, so I can't really speak to the Panasonic question.

Thanks I Hope you post down the line I have been on the fence about the mech mod
I don't know if Id be looking if it were not for the Aga T2 which I really want to get going a little better
My RDA's work fine on my vamo

But for the price looks really good and its small too not bad for out and about

Well I in my humble opinion you did good with the AGA-T2, I'm very happy with mine, and you are right to be thinking about a mech mod in my estimation. They are just made to go with RBA's, and having used one this long I can't feature using my RBA on a Vamo or Provari. What would be the point? I can't see me getting a regulated mod at all at this point.

if you get the sentinel, which is a great choice, go for the all brass one. the aluminum one has cheap threads that are known for getting stripped

That's a shame because I really liked the 2 tone look of the aluminum over the all gold of the brass

But then again how fast can they wear out for $12 if it lasts 6 months maybe that's ok
I don't know have to think on this one

friend stripped the threads of one in 2 minutes.... lol. thats a little extreme though. the problem is your going to strip them at least a little bit any time you screw on an atty made out of harder metal than aluminum, which is almost all of them

Uh, yeah, that tears it, I'm ordering my Magneto.... oh, wait, it's out of stock everywhere, except the place that wants $70 for it. Bummer in the summer, another ungettable thing....

ok ill make pros and cons list for the magneto

pros
-relatively cheap
-soft throw
-reverse threaded locking ring
-telescoping

cons
-magnetic switch makes it tall
-absolutely no response from button (spring lovers, you know what i mean)
-ive seen multiple get a jammed locking ring
-not a floating center pin
-top telescope, more prone to wobble than center telescope
-you can get much lower voltage drop in the same price range
-some attys refuse to screw on to it

all that being said, what i see as a con you may see as a pro, and vice versa. take from it what you will. my .02
