Should I trust this battery?...

I got my used NZonic in the mail today. I couldn't wait, I just HAD to try it before tearing it apart and cleaning it up. First fire, nothing. Hmmm. 2nd fire, I hear a faint hissing from the cart and start feeling the mod getting HOT. Uh oh. I immediately spun it open and tried to dump the battery out of the mod. Of course it just stuck there because of the magnetic switch. lol I put it down for a few min to cool and pulled it out. It "looks" fine. No bulging or leaks, and tests ok for amps.
I tore the mod apart and found the floating pin was installed upside down...

I didn't know how safe a battery is after a short that gets it that hot.

Outside of aging the battery, nothing really. You prevented a runaway by opening the contacts, you are good do go.
