I'm going to try it eventually. I'm pretty happy where I am now, but I've seen RBA's in action, and they're amazing. I was at my favorite local juice store yesterday stocking up on my faves, and another customer came in with his GF, while she was picking out flavors, he kicked back on the couch and blew the most amazing fog bank of vapor I'd ever seen...it smelled incredible, too. I asked him what he was using (when I could see the couch again), he showed me a mechanical mod and a Russian.

Dang. I gotta get one of them.

You can deff get more vapor and clouds. But another major plus is the flavor is enhanced a lot more than anything else! I only go to about .7 to about .9 ohms just cuz it burns your juice way fast. Big tip- read and learn about it before trying. The danger in sub ohms is real and you need to take proper steps first. Protected batteries are your friends haha

How much do you want vaping to become a hobby? How much do you like to tinker with small parts? Are you good with DIY projects?

Not only are Rebuildables about making wicks and coils yourself, but a good amount of research should be done prior to purchasing a Rebuildable. Which type will you choose? There are tanks and there are drippers. Some models have proven to be easier for beginners than others.

You should have a digital multimeter to measure your coil's resistance. You will need to test the resistance prior to firing the coil on a PV. You will need to know which batteries to use for sub-ohm vaping; many do not have the amp reserve required for sub-ohm and you could push a battery past its limits and cause it to go into thermal runaway. You will have to learn how to spot hard shorts to prevent your battery from hard shorting. Remember, a mechanical mod has none of the protective circuitry included that a regulated mod does. There's quite a bit to learn to do sub-ohms safely.

I think my zmax will do down to .8ohm so maybe I will try with that got. Steam turbine clone on route should get here tomorrow I hope so as I can't wait for that will build with a dual micro coil I think they will be at 1.8 so should give .9 ohm combined I think if I have understood my readings
Pretty sure it only goes down to 1.2 or something like that. Buy a cheap mech and a dripper and you'll love it.

I honestly would never go back to a regulated mod, ever.

Sub ohm was just one step in the learning curve of what we could do with coils. It's pretty much yesterdays news because there are ways to build coils now that far surpass what a sub ohm coil can do.

I use mechanical mods a lot. I was using them long before RBA/RDS or sub ohm vaping even existed. I now use RDA's a lot, but I've found that I can get a far better vape from a ~2 ohm coil than a sub ohm coil could ever produce.

As far as the KayFun/Russian just remember that there isn't a one shoe fits all. They produce a pretty warm vape that isn't for everyone.
(And, if you mess up on the build, and restrict the air flow, they're a damn HOT vape)

I have a dripper and build coils on it my mpv will fire it at 1.0ohm I like that but it was a little tight on the draw so I drilled the air hole a bit works great and at the weekend I use that a lot walking round the house if I was to get a mech I think I would buy the best batteries I could get so I have plenty of room for error this I think would be safest I have done a lot of reading but there's a lot to take in and could easily make a mistake some are saying that micro coils are as effective as sub ohm coils is this right

ONLY try subohm if you know what youre doing... You gotta get the right batteries an ohm tester and for gods sake learn to calculate amp draw!... And ofc dont be stupid and think heeeeey 0,05 ohm must create mega clouds

But when thats all said(AND AQUIRED AND LEARNED!) go for it, great taste and vapor... But if you dont DIY you liquids youre gonna start... This subohm thing drinks the liquid like a freakin horse!... I vaped 3ml today while walking the dog...
And keep the nic lvl low or you'll pretty much crap your pants from coughing if you do a lung draw

Would only ever try this safely was not looking for loads of advice on safety as its all available from other threads just is worth my time trouble and money to have a go as said I have read read and read some more and will keep reading and looking I have a multimeter and know how to use it I also know quite a lot about electric just not electronics re wired a couple of house in my time and repaired lots of faulty car electrics

a dual sub coil yes a single sub coil no.
These who say no to a regulated device have not held a proper vv vw mod.
There is no comparison if you have the proper reg device for sub ohm or mega high ohm
you will never ever use a mech again other than for variety. lol

Battery charge and a flat dc wave at 30-50 watts beats-down every mech out there..
My mech sits now I rarely use it..

Evercool mod/OKR is a beast. @ .5ohms; it will even hit 70 watts comfortably but is spec'd for 50 watts..
Produces the same thick milky soup like vapor as a mech. Appropiate battery stays cool. hence the name "evercool"..
