Should of stuck with a newb build instead of jumping to something complex.

one lead of all the coils go on center post screw and the other leads from the coils go on outside post screws. 1.4 ohms on single coils install two of the same coils your ohms would be .7 ohms. Why buy another one? Best to learn that one first. Utube is your friend. CHEERS!

I got down to .4 ohms and when i fire nothing happens and I made sure it wasn't touching anything. Could it be the wire I use or the battery I use? all newb questions. I'll just keep practicing i guess.

Trouble shooting is a process of elimination. You mod not firing could be several things but I don't really understand what the issue is here.

I'm still confused. So you have one coil mounted that fires. That one shows 1.4ohms on your ohm reader?

You installed another coil and it doesn't fire, but the other one does? So now you have two coils in your build, one fires, one doesn't - is that right?

Can you post a pic of the build please?

If we can understand exactly what is going on, we'll be able to tell you how to fix it. A picture would be awesome.

Things to take sure of to help with your issue's.

1) when feeding the lead's into the center post you want to make sure they aren't over lapping. On dual coil builds I find it is easier to bend the leads off to one side and then the other off to the other side. this will make sure they don't end up sitting on top of each other.
2) 3.7v 18650 is very broad info. You will want to make sure that your battery is capable of handling your builds. If it is a 10 amp battery you will want to keep your resistance to about .8ohm as the lowest. If they are 30amp's you get a ton more wiggle room. (This is the most important part and surprised no one else mentioned this yet).
3) practice makes perfect the more often you build the better it gets. When I first started I would rebuild every few days just to get better, now my builds last at least a month before I redo them. I just simply change out the cotton every couple of days.

They both do not fire. I will post a pic up soon.

Thanks for the advice and will do some calculations.

So i have a 18650 3.7V 3000mah battery so my lowest resistance is 1.2 ohms then? Sorry for the newb questions but that's what forums are for i guess. So in order to fire a dual coil say at 0.5 ohms on my mod i need a stronger battery?

I think Deleon was referring to the amp draw of the battery.

You can fire a coil of any resistance with pretty much any battery, but the specs of your battery determine if it is safe or not. I think he was asking for more information about the battery so we can help you determine how low you can safely go with it.

For further info, it's a simple calculation. Depending on the voltage and resistance of your build, determines how many amps it tries to pull from your battery. If your build tries to pull more amps than the battery is designed for, bad things (like really bad things) can happen to the battery, your mod and your face.

Steam Engine | free vaping calculators click on the battery drain tab. Most common batteries are listed on the drop down on the left hand side. Using this will help you determine if you are vaping as safely as you might.

The Mod not firing is a different issue than battery safety. You should look up the Constant Drain Rate of your battery. This will determine how low you can build your coils. What is the name on the battery you are using? Hopefully it doesn't have fire in the name like ultrafire etc.

Seems like you might to do some more studying before you fire that RDA would hate to see you hurt yourself.

Any battery that is an icr or has fire in its name is not safe to use look for an aw Sony if you can find them lg Samsung purple efest those are the popular names for batteries if you look around long enough here you will find a long list of places to buy from then once you have proper batteries things will start to come together.

well, that's going back.

Make sure your coils are identical (Same wire, same diameter, same number of wraps). If they are different, the coil with the least resistance (Lowest ohms) will take most of the eletricity and the 2nd coil will look like it isnt doing anything.
The other thing to check is on the negative post, make sure its good and snug and that it didnt cut the lead when you tightened it (I've done this once or twice when I was learning to build).
