stubby and kitabz and who ever else I've spaced.

I was initially shocked at the salt and nic hit when I got my first Swedish snus. As so many of you assured me would happen, the salt taste has already gone to the background. Not a distraction at all.

I believe it was the Wiz and T Bob that held that the snus is an acquired taste. For some perhaps but happily not the case for me. Now that the palate has accepted the salt, I'm thoroughly enjoying the flavor!!!

For now, the 8mg portions are doing me well in appeasing the nicotine needs. I'll give the Sterk and Ekstra Sterk another shot soon no doubt, but in the meantime, having another means to take care of the nicotine that is enjoyable and does not involve smoke is priceless!

The initial suggestions and support from everyone is truly appreciated folks.

But now... so many new flavors to try... which one next.... :D

I've got an 1847 in right now. It starts off as a salt w/touch of pepper taste, and then comes in heavy with sort of a lemon peel bitterness. It stands up to drinks better than most of the other ones I've tried.

Has anyone tried the new '01' yet? I'm about halfway through a can and I just don't know. The taste is very smooth and earthy, I can't seem to identify it, but the 'no-drip' angle just doesn't satisfy that well. I think the smooth taste would be perfection if there were more of it.

One thing's certain, it's a real PITA trying to figure out which one to start buying by the roll. I've got high hopes for the Skruf original, so far I've only tried one portion, but it had a note of pepper in there that made me take notice. I'll grab another one shortly and see if I can glean more flavor insights from it:)

Take your sweet time getting into rolls. I've been snusing nearly 6 months and just ventured into rolls this week (Ettan white and Grovsnus white). Your taste will very likely change in the next few months as you get a taste for snus.

Just try a lot of different stuff at first, one can at a time. If you find something you like get 2 or 3 cans next order. After that you can start thinking about rolls. Getting those rolls is kind of a trip though. Take one out for immediate use and the rest go in the freezer. I'm good for a while.

I have an order with northern with a few cans of the 01 on the way. I have hopes for it as I like the milder flavors.

Hey stubby
I'll certainly be following the advice to try several brands/flavors before I do rolls. The 2 brands you mention, the Ettan and Grovsnus whites. How do their flavors compare to General? What I get from General seems to be mainly heavy pepper followed with the bergamot.

The Ettan and Grovsnus are pure tobacco flavors. Ettan is near the top of my preferred list. But there are so many brands ... I've never ordered a roll, but order perhaps 10 mixed cans at a time. Right now, I've got a Claq Qui in as I type. I finished off a packet of Discreet earlier. I like to mix it up, go with what seems right at the moment.

By acquired taste .. I acquired it about the second day.

First reacton was "yuck." It went back in the refrigerator. Next day? Not bad. Following day? I'm a regular.

Just goes to show how it's different strokes for different folks. I like my routines so I'm down to about 4 regular snuses and a few others for variety.

I'm certainly still trying other stuff, but I'm contented with what I have.

Heh heh, 4 regulars and few others sounds like a well rounded "routine" stubby;)

I think routine, I think how I vape. Coffee, chocolate or unflavored. Done. Now that by gawd is "routine" :D

I'm still mostly using different types of uhm.. your general general :p
(original portion, original mini portion, general white, general mini white)

I actually used up a whole can of general loose (made it a point to use it up once I had it out because it wasn't young when I got it plus they come in those cardboard type cans -- I made homemade portions with it using an adapted homemade syringe icetool and cut up standard paper teabags). Kinda nice to get back to the convenience of just popping pre-made portions in

surprised how fast now I seem to be going through these portion types now (I'm trying to methodically go through a bunch of different snus I had impulsively opened all at once to try them all out), soon I'll have to work my way back through the opened wintergreen and some dry catch types (licorice, eucalyptus), etc., not really looking forward to it (I've found I like just plain snus best). Once I get caught up I'm looking forward to trying Ettan and some other types I later got (but was at least smart enough and self controlled by then not to try to start in on them with all these others already opened)

To hell with self control.
My coming order will hopefully offer enough variety in flavors, I'll be opening everything within the first couple days.

Morning whistlrr, what pray tell is the knobbywristbone of Michigan?

I'm not sure why so many snus users seemingly jump around. As a cigarette smoker, I found Kent and stayed with it for 20 years. Back then, give me a Winston or Viceroy and I'd almost puke. I've had two other brands in my years of smoking (before quitting). But snus ...

I like quite a few brands, none well enough to become a chain-snusing item!

With nasal snuff, I'm back to my cigarette routine: I found three I really like and will not order other types, having tried about 40 types. With snus, I've now tried most, I think, but I keep getting excited about new stuff (a Mocca in coffee flavor? Yes!!).

The parts I highlighted right there: questioned and.. answered!
Thats me.. I have to test around first so that I can find what it is I like best before I can settle down and hone in

and btw, hello there TropicalBob! You rock! :D
I love your videos and I kind of follow you around a little bit, paying extra attention to your posts when I see you here here and on I think two other forums we're both on. This is the first time I've actually talked to you though (I've mostly been just here on ECF and getting gabby here the past couple of days). "Moobyghost" is another one I pay particular attention to (really good howto and helpful movies there too, haven't seen him posting anywhere to say hello to him yet, just so far seeing his movies in youtube)

When I first saw you I mistakenly referred to you as "TobaccoBob" somewhere and I need to relocate and correct that

I love that you've tried just about everything under-the-sun, including just about every NRT; I've seen you talk about ones I'd never heard of before, and you've inspired a few of my own experiments (like my making a nasal inhaler out of the nicorette oral inhaler and a modified vick's inhaler.. I removed the original stuffing, have set it aside for possible future use with e-juice, jam the nicorette's little cartridge right up in the sniffer part instead and I get the desired nicotine from it nasaly and much better than the from original designed, and the cartridge seems to be lasting me a really long time this way, and like the green-tipped QWS snuff bullets you talked about, really looks like I'm just treating a cold). :)

Woo! Glad I could help :D

I am a fiend for variety but like to keep a few specific ones on hand. I always have a tin of regular, mini, sterk and extra sterk on my desk. The sterk is usually Claq Qui, but sometimes Nick & Johnny or Onyx. The extra sterk is whatever I have on hand.. not too picky there because I use only one or two a day.

As for the regular and minis, well, I switch those up constantly :D

Lately I have a tin of loose on my desk as well. No mudslides yet :D I was shocked at how easy and mess-free loose was for me right from the beginning. But I think a lot of that -- and a lot of why some people prefer specific portion sizes, shapes, or certain locations for parking the snus -- is individual anatomy.

Someone mentioned 01... I've got a ton of 01 and 02 here, but mostly for my husband, who uses those almost exclusively. It's not the flavor or the non-drip that appeals to him, though, it's the portion shape. And I have to say I do find the 01/02 portions incredibly comfortable. They're just not flavorful enough for me to use regularly.

I would like to report that I have encountered ONE Swedish snus I actually dislike. Thunder Blue... omg. It smells like windex and tastes like antifreeze. *gag*
