I couldn't resist and have just ordered one from FT. It comes as a kit with a flavour banging single coil rda on it. I had just watched a review by Mr Todd and if he's impressed with something you know it's a goody :)

Hope you are still enjoying yours. I don't know whether you know but the stabwood part just slides off the internal tube if you need it too....i'll be doing it if mine needs poloshing but if it's like yours was then probably not...

Have a great day....

Mines still in its box. I’ll get going one of those days! It’s awfully cute.

I was only pulling your leg :)

Well we've all got a chance to win and somebody will.... If you never win anything I hope it's you...
The only thing I ever won was a small leather change purse during my return trip home from France on the Lermontov in 1977. I still use it.

Fun fact: I have been lucky enough to travel by sea four times (to and from New Zealand, to England, and from France). All four ships eventually sank. Coincidence? Perhaps. And perhaps not . . .*

*I'm pretty sure most ships end up sinking, but it's fun to pretend I'm proof the old sea dog belief that it's bad luck to have females onboard is no superstition.

Actually, on further inspection, I realized mine wasn't finished as well as I would've liked -- sure it had nice glossy poly-coat (of some kind), but the wood below the coating had some finish imperfections. I sanded it down to the stabwood with 220grit, smoothed it over, and then micro-meshed it back up to nice lustre topped off with a rubbing of conservator's wax:

And yes, still enjoying it :)

I'm quite taken by this one, too. Do you know about Mark Todd's latest charity raffle? One lucky soul will win a Tripod, a Haku Riviera, and a Regadillo. Plus, even if you lose, you'll have donated to a good cause. I plan to win, of course.

NolaMel pointed me towards the Tripod. And I really do want one.
I did not know about his latest charity raffle, so thank you for that. ;)
Great cause, absolutely. I donated + entered earlier.
Very nice gear for sure.
Of course you plan to win! :)
Let's see......you, me and how many others? Hmmmm...
1, 2, 3, ......10 ooops, I've run out of fingers and toes.

What are you using for the clear coat! I’ve been using layers of water based poly hardwood finisher with light sanding in between. So far I’m thrilled with the new ya it looks and feels. Not sure how well the water based poly will last but so far so good.

Nothing as yet... still researching...

Yep...you've had some good results there Rob :)

Have you heard of Romain Brault, he's a french specialist in wood and does some amazing polishing work to finish people's mods off....

He does just the polishing and he also does a clear coat finish that keeps the finish so it won't dull of damage if it gets wet ......I haven't used him because I think I can get similar results myself....but may be of interest for you :)

Very much of interest to me! Many thanks @charlie1465 I will search for him.

Hi Show me

They're mods made by a fantastic modder here in France. They are called the
Tiny Fet v2 VS Indra Fet
Stay tuned

This is the sort of stabwood I go for. You can't beat the look of the real wood for class and beauty.

Let me know if you save up enough and I'll put you in touch with the maker... I like window shopping too
I'm waiting for him to make a Boba Fet edition.

I decided I would need more sandpaper and more energy to do it right, so I'm settling for a quickie(1) sand and polish(2) on the Luna for the time being and seeing how a few different RDAs look (now wearing a Cthulhu 1928):

I think I got rather lucky with this blind 'red' order gamble ... now to decide what to move to the shelf to make room next to my recliner.

1. Stop! don't even ...
2. No, 'sand and polish' is not a euphemism (well, at least not this time).
