For (KR808d-1) cartomizers, I use little styrofoam trays with holes that could have been made to hold them!
You can fit more than 3 dozen into one that takes up about as much space as a miniature box of chocolates - and best of all, they're FREE!
Your local "gun range" will be more than happy to make you a present of as many of these as you want, as they use up dozens of the things every day, and if you don't take them, the garbage man will!
For KR808d-1 cartomizers, ask for the ones that held bullets for "357" guns. If your cartomizers are a different size, just take one with you and they'll find one that fits it.
Mr lolady and I have both loved shooting at inanimate objects since childhood!
Sadly, I can't do it any more (low vision takes so much of the fun out of it) but whenever Mr lolady wishes to demonstrate to young people that he can shoot a tinier dot than they can, and at several times the distance, teaches younger family members about forming good safety habits, he always comes home with a self-satisfied smirk couple of the little styrofoam trays for me.
They weigh nothing, so that even all filled up they're very easy to pick up and take to another room or out onto the patio, and as the holes are in straight little rows, you can organize them as you like, according to flavor, current favor, etc.
Now if only our esteemed forum suppliers would hurry up perfecting the styrofoam e-cigarette!
If Science can make such nice little trays for the cartomizers out of styrofoam, I see no reason they can't make wireless hookah-doodles out of the stuff, for people whose hands get tired.
