Give us your poor, your tired and hungry, your weak, abused, lame and derelict.

This thread is for the worst of the worst; the dregs of vapordom, because anybody can buy beauty, ugly takes time, dedication and talent -- because beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes down to the bone -- because it's not fun until somebody loses an eye.

So, bring out the gimp and snap some fuzzy pics of it. Post it here and include a brief biography. I'll set the low mark with my first Vamo VW that I affectionately call "Grendel"

Variable Wattage "Vamo" mod (Grendel)

Grendel was born in some grimy Chinese sweat-shop and took the slow boat to Texas about two years ago. She showed up wearing a very thin coating of "chrome" that wore off within a few months. She was dropped from a motorcycle on highway 16 north of San Antonio, and I spotted her in the ditch on the return leg. The battery had breached core and I considered trashing it but decided to salvage her for parts. Badly burned, scarred and dented, I was surprised to find that she still worked!

She is pictured here wearing a new Quasar RDA. With her accurate Ohm-meter and reliable electronics, Grendel serves me as chief taster in the flavor lab.

It's not ugly, it has character! :) Reminds me of a robot whose name I can't remember at the moment.

I think that "Grendel" is absolutely beautiful. She looks to me just like an inviting overstuffed arm chair that we used to have that every time I passed it by in the living room I just got an overwhelming urge to sit down and put my feet up.

However, I prefer the f-uglies (I'm talking about an item that wasn't just hit with the ugly stick but it was beat on by the whole ugly forest) in items like this, they look like they have greater character. Anybody (with the money necessary) can own a shiny new device, but not everybody can have an item like Grendel with such character. I like those items that look comforting in some way, and Grendel hits the spot exactly. If I saw it on some place like ebay, I'd likely bid on it if it was in my price range.

Almost forgot I lost the fill hole plug and stuck a screw in it, if you dont put a high vg juice in it, it will leak it all out in about an hour.

Grendel is sweet! It almost has a steampunk type look to it. Or maybe an apocalyptic type look. Either way I love it! Those Vamos are pretty durable. I have a Kangside e-Huge which is basically just a Vamo and it's super durable and has been serving me well.

Ok, here's mine:

uglies-004.jpg

I keep this to remind of two very important things that I already knew, but temporarily lost sight of, when I saw the great price on this "eGo-C Twist": a) anything that seems too good to be true... almost always is, and b) you get what you pay for, and this is an excellent example of why NOT to buy dirt-cheap mods from China.

 I mean, I'm really sorry about that Andria. I do feel your pain. Been there, done that. Not fun. Got all excited because you can vape in bed. Stripped two 510 connections because I rolled over on them in my sleep. You'd think I'd have learned my lesson after stripping the first one.

Heck, all I did to "cause" this was reach over to my desk and grab my PV by the topper, a mini PT II, instead of grabbing the bottom, and it came apart like that. I could probably repair it with some superglue, the wires are still connected internally and it still works, but I learned that I really hated that button on that little collar, it's very hard to find without looking at it, and I have plenty of mods now, I can leave this one to serve as an object lesson. :D There sometimes really is such a thing as "too cheap." :D

This is the first mech I bought. From ft. It's the smallest they sold at the tune it's telescopic, I have to use a 510 adapter bc the original stripped out. I built a Delrin slip to go over the button to make it recessed, i call it the hula. I love how well it came out.. but I still rock this fragile mod sometime. .
