Side effect that I have ran into, which I've heard others say, is very dry lips! I wasn't putting on chapstick for the first week like people were saying, which was my bad. Lips got so dry that I got a couple of tiny blisters on my lower lip but they weren't visible (thank gawd) and that's about it.

Other than that the positives so out weigh this lil dry lip problem which is now under control. :)

If you are not using a whistle-tip, the hard edges of the regular tips can cause lip blisters. That happened to me at first, till I switched to W-tips.

I actually was getting sores on my inner lips by trying to use an e-cig like an analog, dangling from my lips while on the computer.

My wife hasn't said anything about my snoring - she seems a bit upset about the whole vaping thing - it actually takes more time then old fashoined smoking, and I'm not even talikng about lying around on the forums all night.

yeah my wife isnt very into the whole vaping idea...but she is going along with it for now...she just didnt/doesnt want me doing it until it gets researched more and she can see that it is less harmful than analogs... but like i told her... i has to be because its not got the 4000 other chems. in it... and it doesnt smell or leave garbage and ash around... it doesnt linger or stink up clothes... worst i got so far is the dry-lip thing, i imagine i should invest in chap-stick stock...lol

I agree, my NPRO has a round tip on it and I am not fond of it.
I got a 510 today so I will see if that helps.

:)

Thank ya

Studies conducted in 1942 by Dr. Oswald Hope Robertson of University of Chicago's Billings Hospital showed vaporized propylene glycol inhalation in laboratory mice may prevent pneumonia, influenza, and other respiratory diseases. Additional studies in monkeys and other animals were undertaken to determine longterm effects, especially the potential for accumulation in the lungs. After a few months of treatment, no ill effects were discovered.

neat little fact, thanks wikki!

Thanks... - When we think US, we think $$, right? (Or is just me?):D

How about financial side effects. In the last month I have invested heavily in e-smokes, will have to see if I wil ever break even.

What's the price of cigarettes in US? -->> A pack of 20 Kent ciggarettes in South Africa is just under R 25 = 25 ZAR = 3.33 US$ @ 7.5 ZAR/1 US$.

Some brands like Marlboro and Dunhill and the "Super Slim" types are more expensive. Starter/Default cigarette brand is Peter Stuyvesant Filter. Cigars are not big here.

Is that a good price? If it is cheap, come over to SA for the World Cup Soccer (Football) next year and you can puff away.

Me too, but that is mostly my fault from ignorance. I bought a lot of stuff I do not need, and overlooked things I do need. But in the long run, you have got to consider all aspects of quitting analogs, not just financial. But you will eventually break even and better.

I live in North Carolina in the USA. This is "tobacco country". We have some of the CHEAPEST tobacco prices in the US. Right now for a "generic" brand cig a carton is at least $36 dollars. Brand name (Marlboro etc. are over $45 per carton (=10 packs) Single pack of anything, even generic, is more than $4.00 and that is considered EXTREMELY cheap by most of my relatives elsewhere in the US!

In South Carolina, you can get a pack of analogs for about $3.50 on sale. On sale, you can find cartons for $25-35. Regular prices go up to $40 for a carton.

Before switching to e-cigs I was ordering analogs over the Internet for much less. I think I paid $42 for two cartons at a time. Of course, the government just passed a postal law to put a stop to that-LOL!

The cost will eventually even out. I've spent a ton for all the new gadgets and trying to find that just right juice. Now I think I have finally arrived where I need to be and the only thing I have to order is replacement parts and some juice. The savings (monetary) will come. The health benefits arrive much sooner.

Yes, that was my mistake--over buying gadgets--that are still unused or barely used. Now, it's just juice for a while, I hope.

Rather OT, but how long will juice last once the bottle is opened? I have about four opened now, trying flavors, etc., and realize there must be a shelf live. No idea what that is.

When it tastes bad? Or as juice gets older, does it have ill affects?

Same here with spending a lot trying different things early on. But I'm now settled into a device I like and e-liquid I like, so it's just a matter of re-orders as needed. When I average out the cost, it's a fraction of what I spent on analogs.

With the juice shelf life, I would ask the seller you bought from. I hear it's good for two years, but the brand I buy is only considered good for six months (though I have a feeling that's an overly cautious shelf life). I don't know what happens when e-liquid expires. I'd assume the nic gets weaker, but the other ingredients might get icky or something.

Getting back to side effects... I have none. Within a few weeks of starting vaping (I use PG), every side effect that I did have was gone. I'm not even sure now what was from adjusting to vaping and what was from adjusting to a lack of smoke in my system. I had terrible headaches, irritated throat, excessive sinus pain/pressure, severe acid reflux, random aches and pains all over, dry mouth, dry lips, dry skin. I drank a ton of water and that didn't really help much. But between the second and sixth week of when I started vaping (and quit analogs) all of those issues gradually disappeared.

I am also one of those that had a horrible wheeze when I went to bed. For the most part, it's gone from the first day I started vaping, and stopped smoking. I'm not foolish enough to think it's the vaping, because I know it cleared up from no longer smoking.
As far as PG inhibiting colds and other upper respiratory problems, I'm not to sure about that yet, but for the last day or so, I seem to be on the verge of getting my annual sinus infection. So I'll have a better idea in the next few days.

Finally following up on my earlier post. I have gotten an annual sinus infection every year, for the last 10 years or so. It always happens between Thanksgiving and Xmas, and if I ever got a cold, it was always a week to 10 days before I got completely better. But this year when I started getting the symptoms which usually turn into a sinus infection, you know the ones, congestion, itchy throat and nose, sneezing, etc... Anyway, this time, it was completely gone in 4-5 days. And seemed like the symptoms were much milder then they normally are for a cold. [the milder symptoms could also just be my perception, because it went away so quickly on its own. Only the 3rd day was really like having a cold at all.]

Now who can say if the mildness of it, [my cold], this year, is simply a benefit of quitting cigs, or does vaping PG play a part in it also? Or the fact that for the first time in several years, the seasonal cold DIDN'T morph into my annual sinus infection. Could vaping PG be responsible for such mild symptoms, or at the very least, a contributing factor to those milder symptoms and quick recovery? I mean, I'm no medical expert, but it's certainly one helluva coincidence.
