Heylo Everybody,

I know there have been an inordinate amount of threads surfacing on this topic, but this one is purely to help me make a decision.

I have a Cloupor 30W and use it for Kayfuns and 1.0Ω+ builds on my Magmas but not on my other rda's because there simply isn't enough power to power the builds I have on them. I love my mechanicals, but never build below 0.2Ω (88.2W).

So, since I never build below 0.2Ω, never going above 88.2W, is there any need for me to wait and get the IPV3?

I found a good price on the sigelei 100W and don't want them to sell out since I know all of these new high-powered box mods are going to sell out very quickly and will be as rare as a jackalope until clones appear.

I've never owned anything from sigelei, are they of good quality?

What should I get? I'm going crazy thinking I'll miss out on something if I don't get the IPV3, but if I never use the extra 50W (plus whatever updates come through), is it really worth the extra $50? A dollar a Watt...

Thanks for reading and responding to my OCD insanity.

I personally ordered the ipv3 150 watt. Should be shipping in two weeks. Why, ? Because I have the ipv2 50 and absolutely loved it! Also because the yihi company will be further supporting the ipv3 with future firmware upgrades we can do ourselves. It will be shipping out with the first upgrade already installed. 100 watts to 150 and according to yihi, more will be coming. Also it has a full year warranty and improvements have been made from the ipv2.it will take TWO 30 amp batteries which is very nice. The segelei is a nice well made unit but I'm personally going with the ipv3.150 mainly due to the future support. Plus having those extra watts is nice! I am pretty sure you won't regret it if you choose the ipv3. If you choose otherwise, you might have some regret. I'm guessing. I weighed these things in my head as well and now I'm glad I went ipv3. No regrets! I weighed out both units and decided on the ipv3. I absolutely loved my ipv2 and NEVER had a single problem with it. I vote you go with the ipv3. Watts up vapor has them going for 130.00 right now I believe and if you want I can give you a coupon code for them to save another 15%. It has to be used by Oct 31. Let me know and pm me if your interested.

Thank you! How do you think you are going to put those 150W to use?

Both of these devices are getting into power levels that could cause problems.

At .2 ohms and 150 watts you have over 27 amps. The batteries are in series so each one has 27 amps going through it. The National Electric Code caps 12 guage wire at 25 amps and to go to 30 you need 10 guage. That goes from .08 to .1. I am not sure they use ample wire.

My sauna heater runs on a 35 amp circuit. I would like to see someone like UL take a look at one of these things and see if they think it is safe.

We are soon going to run into amp loads where the positive pin in a 510 connection will not be large enough.

Look at one of these. I can pick up a pair of trust fire batteries with a 10 amp drain, stick them in the mod, set it to 150, and press the button. Nowhere has anything been said that this might be a problem. The batteries fit, I used a high drain battery, yeah one of them was a little old, and when I pressed the button things went bad. I did everything they told me. These ecig things are dangerous and we, the great masses, should do something to protect those vapers.

Sorry.

just be careful

Personally I'd pick the Cloupor T8. Oddly enough the ipv v3 seems to have a max voltage of 7v , think the sigelei is hindered by the same restriction.
In short, this would force you to do sub ohm builds in the 0.3-0.4 range to get anywhere near your maximum output.
On higher ohm builds builds , let's say an average 1.2 ohm coil, it wouldn't get anywhere near this 150w. (No matter what the display says)

I am waiting on the pre-order of the ipv3. I bought this unit as something to grow into and if I never do then I have some great battery life. Like you I was on the fence between a few units and without peer reviews the only thing to do is go with your gut and hope it is a good buy.

If you are not in a hurry you could wait a month or so and by then hopefully there will be some hands on feedback readily available. Of course 6mths of use would give you a better idea on performance but by that point we will all be waiting on the IPV6 lol

Thank you for the response! See that's the of awesome thing about the IPV3 is that you can upgrade it into the IPV6 right?

I have the ipv3 in hand. If i can help answer any questions please let me know.
SO FAR i like it a lot.

Perfect, thank you! First, do you find yourself using all of the power? Or is it rare occasion that you will crank it all the way up?

Yeah it is suppose to be upgrade-able but I am not sure what the cap on the chip will be. Originally it was suppose to be a 100w and then P4U upgraded it to 150w.

lol yeah, I've been following these for a while. I was just rolling off your IPV6 joke.

P4Y said the YiHI firmware upgrade (for the ipv3) will be 180 by the holidays. Download file, hook up USB and ready to go. (Hopefully more effective than the cloupor disaster.) Supposedly you can customize the boot up screen to show you name or something like that too.

As far as the question about how high i run my ipv3... It depends on my rda build. I have built down to .2 and run 150w. Not my preference but still a good vape. I typically build around .5 though. On my tanks i obviously use much less wattage.

I have the IPV2 and will pick up the IPV 3 when it is in stock. I had a Sigelei 100W in my hands today and it's nice but I like the IPV design better. The Sigelei 100W also does not allow USB charging and the IPV3 does which I really like, use it on my IPV2 now.

The one thing I like is there is really no need for sub-ohming. I have a dual coil @ 1.4 ohms (shows 5.6V) on the IPV2 right now and the flavor and vapor is insane. It heats up fast, there is no delay and it's a nice warm vapor, not hot.
