Hey guys,

I absolutely love the setup I have and the tfv4, great atomizer. I'm not too experienced so I haven't gotten in to the rebuildable tanks as of yet. I do vape quite a bit as I work from home and usually vape from 70-90W, rarely any higher.

I just got the sigelei so I was vaping at a much lower level beforehand (50-60). I'm noticing with this setup, with in 1 week on average, I get a lot of dry hits and a burning smell which leads me to replace the original coil. After the replacement, it works like new again perfectly.

My questions are:

1. Is there a different coil I can replace this tank with which will last longer than a week?
2. Is there a similar tank (with top fill) and coil setup which can also resolve this problem?

I hate to replace coils every week. I'm new to this, maybe it's normal? Sorry for the noob questions. I'm currently using the original coils, TFQ4 Quad Coil.

Appreciate the help, thanks!

Hey bud. I used to have TFV4. Great atomizer, was with me for last 4 months on my daily basis. So, first off, Smok is a chinese manufacturer. It means that their goodies may differ. For example, the tri coil that came to me along with the tank lasted me for 3 weeks. I was vaping at 70W all the time. Next one I bought was shi*ty, and I got it for like 3 days. It's all a double, a lottery. What I did was - I bought all three RBA bases that were available, and started diong my own setups. 0.3 dual coil was good enough to match up with the triple stock coil. You can start with that. Top fill tank with some nice coils? Hmm, maybe the Triton v2 from Aspire? Or new Joytech subohm tank? These would work.

I dryburn/rewick at least once, usually twice a week on my rda, and I vape at less than 15 watts.
So yeah it's normal

I use the TFV4 single coil RBA. On clear unflavored VG I usually get 2 weeks before I pull the wick and dry burn/clean the coil and rewick. Even VG will gunk up your coil eventually. Nothing lasts forever.

When you grow tired of the "factory coil vaping tax" pick yourself up some wire, wick and (if it was not included in your tank kit) a TFV4 RBA and kiss the factory coils goodbye!
