From the looks of it possibly. I have an otherwise great working mod, but i can force the screen garble, i can force the misfire, and TCR doesn't work at all. Different people have different degree's of problems, it goes mod to mod basically.

Any chance you asked if updating firmware was even a possibility? or were we all sold a false bill of goods as far as being able to update them. (Going to note here, the USB cable that comes with the device wont even transfer data in any way, at least mine wont.)

Greetings, while it is no surprise that the preproduction units did not have the issues we see the questions now become:
    1. Can Sigelei reproduce the errors we are seeing?
    2. Is it a software or hardware problem?
    3. (and if it is a software issue) Is this thing actually software updateable?
The likely causes might be a software tweak late in the game (not full validation) going into production, a second source vendor part not quite working out or truely a manufacturing quality issue.

IMHO: unless there was a software, hardware or manufacturing change during the last production run, all units are broken. The BIG question then is if this thing actually is software updateable. Then when and IF Sigelei releases a update for our broken devices.

BTW due to the nature of the device:
embedded CPU+RAM+ROM+NVRAM+DAC+ADC, having software memory "leaks" or other issues can cause all sorts of yet to be found problems. I'd assume that EVERYTHING is controlled by the embedded CPU and could fail with faulty software.

It is really sad as I really want this device to work as advertised.

UPDATE EDIT: I just got an email from Sigelei Warranty Service stating that they are compiling a list of issues to be presented to Sigelei Engineering and Management at a upcoming meeting to see if any or all the issues could be resolved by a firmware update.

I'll read this as confirmation that the device actually is firmware updateable. I'll keep the community posted if when further information comes in.

Another review has popped up on Youtube for the Sigelei 213, this time by Rip Trippers, and again there is no mention of the aforementioned faults with the mod. In addition, Rip goes on to state that the mod is not firmware upgradeable. This is very disconcerting. At the time of my purchase I'm sure I had read that it was firmware upgradeable. I'm trying to track down where I received the information from in the first place, but if this true it is a MAJOR CON.

So this happened to ALL units?

NO. I think that there is a lot of FUD in this thread. "Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt." Microsoft use to spew FUD to create havoc with competing products.

I have TWO Sigelei 213s and I'm waiting for two Twisted Messes SQ bases so that I can pop on some TC coils. There is no problem being reported anywhere except by a few right here on ECF.

Here are a few complete reviews of the Sigelei 213, and I chat with pbusardo and he is going to do a review soon too. (#1, #2, #3)

No problem with the mod in review after review. It's all FUD.

I looked at 8+ Reddit articles on the Sigelei 213.

The following have reviews on YouTube for the Sigeli 213: 21,728 views Vaping360. 48,669 views on VapnFagan. 6,003 views on Rip Trippers. 19,067 views on Vaping Bogan. 25,440 views on Mike Vapes. 5,057 views on Jai Haze. 6,617 views on Aspen Valley Vapes.

NO DUDS reported by the reviewers or the people who have seen the videos or posted on Reddit over the last 2 months. No issues what so ever on any of the videos or in the comments. Yet in this owners thread there are a couple with issues. Just looking at the raw numbers, this seems to be one heck of a solid mod.

My suggestion would be return your product if you have any issues. If you are looking to buy one of the best mods out there BUY the Sigelei 213.

    Strange eh?

@Tommy-Chi Thank you for your comments and sharing them with us all. I welcome all feedback, the cons and pros. It is through sharing our community progresses forward.

I apologise if it appears that there are too many cons being listed in this thread. Regrettably some of us are still seeking a resolution to the issues we are experiencing. In addition, some very good members are still choosing to test out their mods in TCR and TFR modes to see if it functions in a safe manner. I believe the service they are doing is of benefit to the community, in whole. I hope you understand and will appreciate their hard work.

Despite the issues I am personally experiencing, I agree with you that this mod is a good one. Its build quality is sound, it's lightweight and functions exceptionally well in power mode. Unfortunately mine misfires, a lot. I was contemplating on contacting my local vendor to seek a replacement unit, one which would not have any issues; however, I'm hanging around this thread to see if Sigelei will attempt to fix the issue with a firmware upgrade. It will save me and my local vendor the unnecessary task of claiming warranty. I am also interested in seeing if Sigelei will fix the issues with TCR and TFR through a firmware upgrade. Thus far I have not seen any comments or reviews confirming it.

Again, I apologise if it appeared the mod was getting a bad reputation. We were not trying to spread fear, uncertainty and doubt. Our intentions were, and remain, humble. We simply to wish to seek assurance and reliability for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, see I was having no issues other than screen garbling, not a big issue to me, I mean yeah it shouldnt happen but it did, and I weigh having to deal with the issue vs having to deal with resolving it. Not worth the hassle, for me anyhow.

Then while still getting use to the device and playing with all the features having some learning curve to them, I started reading of issues that make the device "a brick" for people into tcr and tfr, and other issues.
So I did my own test, which taught me alot about the device and put those worries to rest.

Then I saw more post, the video (which convinced me that atleast Darth had a bunk device), then more post putting Sigeli and the 213 in even more bad light, and had me questioning my testing. Which I haven't gotten to yet. But even if all the worst of what people are saying is true there are still quite a few functions that work just fine, and I find it strange that no one was mentioning that most of the features do work, and work good.

Sigh....either way I have 2 of them, and I like them, use them everyday.
Better than my Boxer sx350, nah....
Better than any of my Dna 200s, nah.....
    Worth the 80$, yup.
Do I hope there are firmware up grades, of course...those are good for everone.

Just with all this negative news/vibes in here the number of voices that could speak up about the few issues that may or may not exist on some or all the devices out there may have gotten quite a bit smaller.
Thats why I asked for the people with working devices to speak up, and the people with issues to take stock of the pro's along with the con's.

    Just my humble opinion.
I mean we're all here for the same reason....Progress (is one word that could sum up), right?

Hope that I don't get a "DUD" myself b/c I plan to buy at least 10 of these for the vapocalypse.

In at least 135,000+ YouTube video views, among the thousands of comments in same, plus 8+ Reddit articles not one complaint. Looks like all the negative reviews are right here on ECF in this thread. This thread is a global Sigelei 213 complaint magnet!!! :w00t:

I even looked at 8 articles on VU and didn't find one complaint, but there was one guy, a NEW MEMBER named TechnoGeek, who mysteriously says there are issues on May 18th, yet I could not find the posts on VU. Maybe one of you crack sleuths can locate the complaint thread.

Gee... I hope somebody fixes awl de buggs.

I do not work for Sigelei and am not here to sell them.

That issue was already discussed in this thread. But good find on Reddit. I did not see it.

But is it a malfunction for something to not fire within so many seconds? Maybe. I guess we will find out.
Would you like to try trade your Sigelei 213 with mine?
