So what is the difference between the #8 and the #8w?

We don't know for sure as no one has the #8w yet but I do know the #8w is a bottom button mod not a side button and the #8w has a 2 part top cap that can be unscrewed to reveal ego connector also has brass top and bottom caps with all brass contacts and has separate tubes for 18350 and 18650.

So what is the difference between the #8 and the #8w?

The #8 is a "pinky button" mod:
httphttp://www.vaportekusa.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=Sig-8://

...while the 8W is a bottom fire button mod...it's also considered a "clone" of the Caravela:
Sigelei 8W "Caravella Clone"

The 8W is still on pre-order, so nobody knows much about it, other than pictures. I haven't seen any reviews on it yet, so it's still somewhat of a mystery. I love the Caravelas, and with Sigelies recent track record, I figured it would be worth a shot.

I got in on the round-one pre-order, and I should be getting mine within about a week or so... I'll post my impressions as soon as I get my grubby mitts on it however.... :)

Ya, I got in on the same pre order. I figure <$100 delivered for three mech mods of decent quality, I can't go wrong.
I have:
1 Sigelei 8W "Caravella Clone" - 18350
1 Sigelei #19 Copper, and
1 Sigelei #19b with Nzonic Clone Top Cap on order, as well as materials to make a 750ml batch of my wife and my all day vape.

Vape mail is a good thing.

Did you order from vaportek? Also there is only one round for the 8w. As far as I'm aware they have not even shipped from China so I don't think you will have it by a week I'm on the same preorder and have not had any updates but I do know on there face book a couple of days ago they said there is no word on the #8w from China yet.

Edit I ordered the day they put up the preorder the 25th.

Hey everyone :) I'm new to mechs and have a couple of questions. (I can hear you groaning ;))

I'm looking at this for my boyfriend.

Sigelei #24 with Locking D Ring

I saw a couple of comments about a button problem.. does that apply to this?
Do i need to buy any special springs, screwdrivers or doo-dads for it to work?
I don't see a battery or charger in the photo.. so i guess it's safe to assume those are sold separately?
Do we need an adapter for an evod to screw onto this?

In short: is it safe? What else do i need to buy?

I really appreciate any help anyone can give me :)

I would avoid the #24 until its confirmed or not if it is in fact a #20 style switch (poor design) with the added ring thingie. However, it may be completely different but better to wait and see.

Also, unless you find a kit, most all will require your own batteries / charger.

Does he want a side button?

he doesn't care where the button is.. he needs a ring thingy for work or something he can clip a lanyard to.. I'm open to any suggestions but it needs the lanyard thing or an EASY way for a ring to be attached. It will be taking a beating with the kind of work he does.

I know this is not a video for the Sigelei, but I applied this fix to my #20 V2 spring with two pieces of wire as described in the video, and the improvement is noticeable. If you own one, giving this a try is cheap, easy, and quick.

The longevity of the spring in the switch still concerns me. For now, I'll use it as is and attempt the flush mount modifications.

Yes, you'll need a 510-to-ego adapter for an evod to work.

Another option might be for him to carry the mod in a flashlight holster. I don't know what your BF does for work but I work in construction and if I carried a tube mech mod I would carry it in a flashlight holster on my belt or toolbelt. That would hold it more securely and protect it better than bouncing around on a carabiner clip.

I don't carry a tube mod at work, I carry a Vmod XL and that thing takes a beating. IMO it's probably the best EDC (Every Day Carry) mod in rough conditions, I'd even go as far as saying it's probably one of the best pocket carry mods out there. Vapage has them on sale for 50% off every couple/few months.

Buy him one of these. I use them every now and then. Works great.

I really appreciate your feedback guys! I hemmed and hawed and and been contemplating it anyway so "i just got a provari" for him. He'll use the flashlight holder he says. (He's using an 1100 ego mah so it's not much weight slinging around on the lanyard). I'm thing the provari will be much heavier?

We were checking out those proclips as well..

Thanks again :)
