Haven't got these, but a couple things I do with Kanger ProTanks may be relevant.
- They seem to come with a metallic-tasting residue that simply wouldn't come off - I BOILED the sucker and it was still there. Til I used some soap. Take the coil out - but when new, wash the rest in soapy water - then rinse it a lot. That and only that has solved the metal taste of a ProTank for me
- I remove half the flavor wicks from Kanger ProTank coil/core/heads. Whatever you want to call em, I think they come with too much, and it obstructs the flow of juice to the coil. I get NO leaking or gurgling from this - NONE. And I'm not using thick juice either.

Some people have had the metal come loose from the glass after boiling. I think it softens the silicone or glue or whatever it is they use to cement the two together. Just a heads up...

And yes, if you are getting dry hits, try removing a flavor wick. If it's gurgling or leaking badly down the air tube, add a small 1mm wick on top of the coil.

That's the problem with BCC's, they have a nasty tendency to flood and gurgle/leak. Haven't had any such problems with my Kanger PT, but I had a big fight with my VapeOnly, ended up having to get my McGuyver on and jimmy a piece of silicone ring in underneath the head. Seems to be holding in the juice better, I think it's just a touch loose without it. But the vape is, IMO, better than the top-coils - at least, much more consistent once you get the flavor-wick/flooding issue sorted.

are those the same as the X9 from fast tech?

if so I have both of them. they work. but the tanks like to come apart on me and I spill juice everywhere. other than that if you keep an eye on the tank slide they work fine. but I have since put them all away because I can't seem to keep an eye on the tank slide. lol. I just use my kanger protanks and dripper now. well my dripper most of the time.

I've pulled the flavor wicks out of all of my Kanger BCC toppers and replaced them with boiled and dried strands of cotton. The cotton doesn't last as long as the silica of course, but its cheap and I'm getting a much crisper flavor from all 4 of my tanks. Just doing a thorough hot water rinse on the wick and coil, then dry burn, then add cotton. Its a beautiful vaping experience now :)

rounding third and heading home...
why do all these companies keep coming out with protank look-a-likes that still use the same kanger or clone coils? other than looks, there is really no substantial difference between any of them- I could line up all of them and have blindfolded people try them all and i'll wager few if any could tell the difference(this would assume they were all set up the same with the same juice, resistance, etc.). if they want to come up with something different why don't they come with better coil options? I would gladly pay for a better wick(like ekowool)or a better wire(say ribbon) to maximize the flavor and taste. yes, you can build your own, but some people would just like the option of better quality. there is a market for it and ALL clearos could stand the improvement. I notice smoktech has started offering a 1.7ohm ribbon coil for their vivi novas. it does a better job than their regular 1.8 coils......
