If I was in the market for the "ultimate" body only sigelei V5 deal I would look for one with brushed stainless steel finish, flat top style, vented top cap, one each of short and long battery caps, machined stainless steel button and laser etched sigelei and CE logos.

Except for the two battery caps, fasttech was selling at least some V5s like this a few months ago. I don't know if they are selling them now or not.

Varitube claims to feature the metal button on their V3 but don't say anything about laser etched logos or two battery caps.

If I were Sigelei the only improvements I would make to future V3 and V5 models would be addition of a bushing or spacer between the circuit boards and top cap to prevent any possible circuit board movement and replacing the current control switch with the more durable Omron switch. The Omron switch is made in China, as it happens.

As far as Sigelei V3 and V5 colors and finishes go the brushed stainless steel is my favorite. I also like the few heat-treated brushed stainless "rainbow" V5s I've seen about. Sigelei coated colors don't seem to hold up very well. The absence of durable color coatings seems to be an industry-wide problem and not just a Sigelei issue. Heck, even the colored Provaris look like crap given some hard use.

spydre..she's using a HANA DNA 30 clone....but to change batteries and keep on vaping...she/me would have to get out the screw driver and remove the little, tiny, wee sized screws....well she has a trigger finger and its so very hard for her to manage that kind of work...so its easiest to just wall charge it....but then she has to go to the Spinner II which has on more than one occasion been battery dead or close...so being able to just zap a new battery in the V5 and pucker up quick like it her cup of coffee!!!
If you're technically gifted you could replace the screws with earth rare magnets (3mm). Should hold the back plate pretty well. You could also cut then a small slot on the bottom so if the back plate is too hard to remove with the magnets, your gf could use a coin or her fingernails to lift the plate.

Just a suggestion...

Inscriptions on the Sigelei tubes are laser etched. Sigelei obtained the laser equipment and started to use these brandings in 2013. We have seen a lot of variation in these etchings on authentic Sigelei product including placement. Etchings may include the Sigelei logo, the CE approval logo or others. My two V3s have no etchings, the V5 does. All are authentic.

Prospective buyers can be pretty naive about e-cig vendors believing everything that they see on every site it absolutely true, accurate and up-to-date perfectly representing the product for sale. This just isn't true in most cases. Often the vendors do not provide complete product information and use product photos that are out of date or borrowed from other web sites.

There will be differences in Sigelei V3 and V5 trim and finish depending the the particular product batch the vendor is selling. The website may not illustrate these actual differences. If you have questions regarding product details contact the vendor before buying. Differences can include the type and number of battery caps, logos, vented or non-vented top caps and button materials.

Three Sigeleis. left to right: V5, first generation V3, second generation V3.

What you say here yzer makes a lot of sense and prompted me to go in search of the Sigelei site and take another looksee...and I found that on this site...they do show the kit...and it appears to the same kit as if offered on some of the sites....sooooo...based on this...maybe they are legit. I just care much for the silver finish though...I really like the gunmetal finish so the kit is not that attractive even at the price they are offering....hahaha..now let me see if I can avoid ordering one before dark thirty!!

Though some have expressed concerns over the gunmetal finish not wearing well I had my concerns to...but just like the finish and will deal with it if it becomes an issue.

I had not really though about doing this Tony..but I am as we speak.
I am going to look at that today in fact and see if I can come up with something that will work. I does not have to be anything to professional looking as it will be use primarily at home.
Thanks for the suggestion!

The silver finish on my V3s and V5 are actually the raw stainless steel the parts are made of. It is brushed stainless steel and is as hard hard as well, stainless steel. I prefer the way the gunmetal and black Sigeleis look when brand new, though. The product photos on the official Sigelei site do not necessarily match what any vendor is actually selling. Sigelei put a picture of Santy Claus on their site last winter and didn't take it down until summer so I don't expect much of anything on the site should be trusted as being absolutely up-to-date.

I thought about the rainbow finish for just about a minute, and realized the finish would probably come off. Plus, I'm not really a "rainbow" type of girl, I guess. At the time, the site was out of the stainless steel finish, so I went ahead and got gun metal, although I wondered if that finish would wear off.

If she has a trigger finger problem - especially if it affects more than just her finger, like if a lot of her hand cramps, then even that can cause problems. By the time I had surgery on my right thumb last winter, the tendon was so tight that when it seized up during the night, it would unbelievably cause my pinky and ring finger to trigger as well, and even a year post op, I get cramping in my hand doing things with tiny things. And now, with my left hand, I'm assuming it's my thumb that's causing the ring and pinky fingers to trigger in the mornings or after a period of inactivity or what have you.

In a business as hot and every changing as the vape business you would think that these company's would be johnny on the spot to have their web sites up tot he second updated....but I've seen so many of the vendor sites that do a very, very poor job of promoting their wares. I found on many sites that they barely post a photo with a few words of description....then some give you about everything you need/want to know.

Oh well...that's the good thing about this wonderful resource we have here!!

Thanks a ton to all of you who help us floundering wanna be vapers!!!

Yeah...you know where she's coming from...I'm going to try and get her on here to let her get your take on here finger/hand problem and vaping. At this time she has more trouble closing her left hand. Lots of pain and stiffness. She went through about 5 session of PT but it did not seem to be helping any so she just stopped going and continued doing the exercises but its still a pain.
Though she tried my V5 the day I got it set up and just loved it...the box is not the most user friendly for her so I've got her one on the way.
The HANA will not be wasted though...cause we both are lovers of having our vapes right handy where ever we go!!

Thanks for the response.

Could be. I had a trigger finger problem two years ago (actually my right thumb). It was horrible especially in the early morning. I had to snap my finger in place on many occasions. Still I refused to go to the doc and it only took like 10 months to heal

I later found out that if not treated in the first 3 months, it could become chronical as the tendon wouldn't recover ever.

Sometimes ignorance is a bliss lol.

Anyway... In worst case scenario, after putting the magnets in, one could attach a piece of cloth or a band on the back plate (inside hanging out) and just pull when needing to replace the battery.

To make everything visually more appealing, you can cut the screw heads and glue them in place to hide the holes :)

Well, once you get to a certain point, they have to go in and slice open the sheath around the tendon. As it is now, in my left thumb, if it's been resting for any period of time, then it starts to "trigger" again, that is, snapping from one position to another. When it first started it out, it was in the mornings, or after naps, and after moving it a bit it would go away. But now there's pain involved as well, from even using the hand, or well, at least the thumb, putting pressure on it, etc.

Her's does not trigger so much as its just hard for her to close her hand with out a lot of pain and then she can't hold anything to well that she can grasp.
Her PT already told her that she didn't need to wait to long before doing something...so we'll see!!

At least the V5 will be easier to work for her.

I have seen photos of two different rainbow V5s. One was a gloss finish and the other was brushed steel. The gloss rainbow looked like it was coated. That brushed steel rainbow is nice. The rainbow colors for the brushed steel rainbow comes from heat treating the steel and is not a coating.

Totally blows me away...I have seen the rainbow on just a couple of sites...and they look good.
I wish there was one or two sites that carried the whole line...colors and all. I would just love to be able to find all this good stuff on one site but it ain't gonna happen.
You would think you could find a Vape Super Store....your one stop shop. Wouldn't that be nice!

I'm all about making things easier, as long as it vapes well!

Sweet-Vapes still has the Sigelei V5 rainbow for sale at $55.95. I haven't purchased here but a few people on this thread bought rainbows here earlier in the year. Photos on the site show laser-etched logos, chromed plastic button and vented flat top.

Sweet-Vapes

Sweet Vapes is where I got mine.

Hope your hand continues to function ok....not a good thing for vapers!!

Yeah I am keeping notes on your suggestions to covert the HANA's back from screws to magnets and will tackle that in the few days...

Her V5 is showing to be delivered today so that will pretty much take care of the emergency measures to get her charged and back to vaping...hahaha...so all shold be good now.

Thanks for the suggestions!!
