Hi guys - posted this in another forum but just realized this is where all the people are.)

I'm new to vaping and have not purchased my first upgrade yet. I posted my plan for my first real setup yesterday, but since then, I am already changing my mind. Doing a ton of research by reading the forums and watching YouTube reviews.

So as I'm formulating/refining my plan for my first upgrade/real setup, I've decided to spend more now, less later.

At first I was going to cheap out and get Spinner or Winder batteries with a Kanger Protank (I want real glass) or Protank Mini... I liked the slim look of this approach. But the more I read, the more I realized it made no sense to buy $20 VV batteries when I can just jump to the top of the line and get a fine instrument with complete control, higher voltage, and cheaper batteries to buy down the line (save money in the long run and have a better mod).

So I think I have narrowed it down to the Sigelei Zmax V3 versus the Provari. I understand that Provari is the Lamborghini of the lot, but I'm reading so many great things about the Sigelei Zmax V3, and it is cheaper.

Which one is truly the way to go? Is it worth spending more to get the Provari? I'd rather shell out the cash now and have the best... but is the Provari is truly better? Need expert input!

Thanks for sharing :):vapor::toast:

Looking to see what he rates as the best device, but all I can find is his rating for the best clearo. Is there a link to his top device?

lol just watch his reviews no matter what he is testing he always has the provari on hand somewhere.

but just watch his actual provari review.

i own a few of them plus other mods. its the only mod i never give any thought to when i leave the house. works like a charm and customer service at provape is topnotch, should you need a repair simply send it in for a small charge after the warranty expires.

its ultimately up to you to decide whats best. taste is subjective and everyone will prefer different things. the z will have features the pro wont, will you use them? or are you more interested in buying a super accurate device built for the long haul once and done?

just repeating a comparison i've heard before, but i think it's apt:

provari is more like the humvee of pv's than the lamborghini - it's built to keep on going even after taking a pretty severe beating. it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some of the other pv's available, but it does what it does very well.

that being said, i've never heard of anyone regretting buying one.

PBusardo review of the Provari version 2 - A PBusardo Review - The ProVari V2 (edit) - YouTube

PBusardo review of the Segelei ZMax version 2 - A PBusardo Quick Look - Sigelei Z-Max V2 - YouTube

For your information, PBusardo can often be seen using a Provari to this day, and he and other reviewers compare most mods to the Provari as the gold standard.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/provari/387147-can-i-see-your-face-your-provari-58.html#post8870219

Before making your choice, be aware that Segelei is a Chinese manufacturer. They do not offer product support past their warranty. Should your ZMax break down after warranty, consider it a throw away.

On the other side of the coin, the Provari has a full 1 year warranty, with the option to purchase a second year should you want it, and will continue to service a Provari in need of repair for reasonable costs even after warranty. Turnaround for service has generally been 1 week. The Provari is without question the better choice for a long term APV.

@ Vwls - nice avatar pic, you're cute.

You could do a lot worse than a Provari......
Solid...SOLID mod......
I disregarded the hype for way too long....my bad.

Be all/end all...????? Nope.....
Absolutely one of the best mods you can buy....backed by good OL USA warranty/know how...????yep.

It's not my only vape.....I have 2 Silver Bullets and a mech that get lots of game time....they all serve their special purpose...
But I highly doubt you will ever regret buying a Provari....

don't think he's updated it in a while, but his list of hardware recommendations are here:

provari is on there under vv devices (along with ego twist and vamo)

That be the ones I and many others use. These will only work with the Provari battery extension cap. Otherwise you need the red Aw IMR 18490 batteries.

I own a Pila charger from RTD. Well worth the extra money. If price is a concern, the higher end Xtar or Nitecore chargers will do the trick too.
