Would also appreciate an answer from experienced vaper.

I vape on my 6v Omega regular Janty 510 atty for the 5th day. Sometimes it's dry, sometimes it's flooded. I might take long (over 4 seconds) drags. I have a large stack of atty's so at the moment I'm not too worried if I burn them.

But it's day 5 and the atty is still alive, though its resistance went up to 3.5ohms.

My guess is that the model of the mod doesn't matter as long as it's 6v. Could it be that atomizers haven't yet reached their maturity as a product and it's mostly about luck?

I have been using my SB for 5 days and have blown 2 attys already!A regular 510 and a HV 4.5 ohm 510.Vaping at 6 volts using tenergy rcr123 3 volt batteries.I keep it wet and try not to hold the button down for more than 4 seconds. How are so many people sayin they have no atty issues and last a long time on this unit!?

Ok, first make sure the attys are really dead.

I had similar problems with my SB & the same Tenergys--and a lineup of attys I'd killed, or so I thought. I happened to try them on another PV, and discovered that reports of their demise had been greatly exaggerated.

The problem turned out to be that some attys were tripping the batteries' protection circuits.

I thought that but unfortunatally they are dead.Tried them in other devices to make sure.

Not exactly the best way to tell. You'll want to get yourself a multimeter (can be had for around $5 shipped on eBay). This will let you measure the resistance of the atomizer, which is the only true way to tell if it's dead or not.

As for atomizers, no two are 100% identical. The quality control over in China on these things is very poor (if it even exists). You should not be burning them out that fast, especially if you had an HV burn out. So, you might want to meter your batteries as well, and make sure they aren't putting out more than their rating.

Thanks will do.Currently on my 2nd day with a 3.5 ohm HV atty.Keepin my fingers crossed!

A 3.5ohm atty should hold up well under 6v, so long as you keep it wet, but not flooded. If you are consistently blowing atomizers, you may also want to try better quality juice (depending on what you're using now).

I have been told that when the atty is flooded it can cause a short in the atty. If you flood it, take atty off and dry the end of the atty after blowing it out gently to remove excess juice. Use a Q-tip or tissue to dry the 510 connection as well.

It can be a struggle-keep it wet but not flooded. Takes practice and different attys respond differently. With the 510 I usually just drip 2 drops at a time. I have friends that say 3 is right.

It's not so much a short, the way I understand it, but the excess juice captures heat...which keeps the coil much hotter than it should be. You'll also notice when it's flooded, that the atomizer will feel hot to the touch. Again, from the excess juice capturing the heat.

I did notice i might have over filled a couple times so i do wipe it off if i notice any liquid commin out.I usually drip about 2 or 3 drops. You can tell when the atty is gettin dry cuz to me it starts gettin a slightly burnt taste.I use mostly Johnson Creek juice(love tenessee cured1),I would think that should be a safe brand.
