Considering how difficult it is to get this particular contact out of the mod, if the price is fair I would do it. The silver wont tarnish and it`ll stay much cleaner for a much longer time. This is a big plus if you are removing your contact with a set of tweezers. Its a fiddly mess if you don`t have the special tool for it.

Hey guys. My rig v3 is copper through a d through. But I can get a silver bottom contact for 15% and wondering if anyone has and input on this or if it will really make a difference at all. The bottom contact is copper just like everything else on my mod.

it didnt on mine, I literally got the same exact output reading on my v3 with the factory copper and the aftermarket silver one. This was at a VERY low resistance ~ about 0.08, so it could also be that it was the bottleneck was the battery's internal resistance (sony vct5)

and yeah, even with tweezers is a big pain to get that pin out, you may want to invest some $15 on that tool they have for unscrewing / screwing in the pin

I have for 4 rigs and love them so decided to go with it, makes it a lot easier to maintain your mod

Did you ever try a solid silver contact? Seen some for sale for rediculous prices(for different mods though). Seen the same thing people say it's better, others say doesn't do anything, but no one did any readings to see if it really helped or not. Would be curious to see if you have some and did readings

I bought this one: Spanner Wrench A La Carte - Makers Of The Rig Mod - V3 Coming Soon – vapeampstore

from the description it seems to be pure silver. i did do readings and got the same (about 3volts on a vct5 @ 0.08 ohms copper v3 rig), but like I said above, you can attribute that to the battery's internal resistance, the losses at the threads of the atty, etc

on a mech mod you have a SERIES of voltage drops, internal battery resistance + negative contact + threads to atty + positive contact + resistance at coil (and when reading all that, resistance at the multimeter's lead as well). it's not all that clear and cut

I'd say go and buy if only because you will maintain it less often
