My S.B. was on the shelf for a while as I have been doing the ego thing. Today I wanted to use it again and here was my experience.
First of all I have not used any kind of lubrication on the threads as of yet. I have owned the sb for about 5 months with 3 months of solid vaping until I purchased the ego almost 2 months ago.
When I screw the end cap on it does squeak a little from no lubrication. What I am about to say now is not the first time this has happened. I remember this being a reoccurring situation I would have with the device > sometimes...

I cleaned the battery heads and bottoms with a dry paper towel. I then cleaned the top (looks like brass) connection the same way. I pop in the 2 three volt batterys, screw on the top making sure the top of the battery is touching the brass connector.

I press the button and nothing. I checked the atty on the ego and it was good. I pop the atty back on the sb...repeat the sequence and still nothing.
Now I try the other( 3.7 ) battery 2400 mah do another sequence and still nothing.

I kept it going (because I felt eventually I would get it working as it has done this in the past) and finally it did with the 2 three volt batteries.

This was the longest amount of time it has taken to get it going.... I got it going at about 4 p.m. and it has been working like a charm for 11 hrs.....and still is.

My question is what is going on? why does it take so long for me too get it to fire? Is there a problem in the button? Is it because I haven't used it for a period of time and.......

One day I fear that I won't get it going at all and would appreciate some feedback on what I could do now to make sure that doesn't happen.

Thanks for any help Bob

It is nice to know that know one else has had this issue. After I got the device up and running it has worked without a miss fire for 48 hours. It is time to put it back on the shelf. Will see what happens in a couple weeks when I try to fire it up again.
Email AltSmoke, they will describe the bump method of getting it going again. You are not the first.

am having this problem now. what is the bump method????
From OhioMelody:
To quote Chad:
"I apologize for the inconvenience. The switch contact plate may be off a bit. Feel for a bit of resistance on the top or bottom of the switch. When you notice which end it is coming from, firmly tap the switch with your finger or knuckle on the offending end. If you do not feel the resistance, firmly tap the switch on center. This will usually resolve a "funky" switch. The contact plate is shaped similar to an arrow, and if it goes a bit off before the switch is "broken in" it can cause an un-even activation \ similar to this but rotated 90 degree. By broken in I am referring to any imperfections inside the contact cup that could cause a hang up of the contact plate. The switches are the best available on the market IMO, but there is still a chance of a 5 o'clock Friday switch getting in there."

This is the standard switch fix response. Sometimes it happens and doing this usually resolves the issue If it doesn't, send cddz a PM.
