so ive had my SB for about a month and now ran into a problem...its not working. I push the button, no vapour, no sizzle, nothing is being heated

so I checked the battery and made sure it was charged. changed between 3.7 and 6v just to try different batts to see if that would help. ive tried 510 atty, 510 carto, 808 carto with adapter.

after all that it still doesn't want to work. what else could be wrong with it?

Nem2k sorry to hear about your SB. It's not a common occurence for these to just stop working.

I'm assuming since you haven't mentioned one, that you do not own a multimeter so...

Some things you could try are stretching the spring (it may have collapsed a bit), clean the threads where it screws together and apply fresh Noalox, clean the positve battery contact inside the top section, and search (I'm too tired right now..lol) for what I believe is called the "staple mod". The staple mod uses a bent staple in the positive connector on the atty to help it make contact with the positive in the battery connector. That will tell you if the connector is the problem. If none of these work, it may be time to send it in to be checked out.

Also could it be your atty? I've thought batteries were dead when it was actually the atty. Just a thought

Im actually having the same issue. Tested it with 18650's, RCR123a's, and the SB USB Passthrough. Atty works perfect on my 5v box mod.

I sent an email to altsmoke this weekend to see what they can do. I tried tapping the button with a small screwdriver and my finger to "recenter" the connection on the button. No go either. I guess we'll see when they get back to me.

I've heard of the switches burning out on those before, could be you just need a new switch.

I submitted a ticket at altsmoke...got a response from Chad to send it back for servicing. I sent mine back to him today.

ok so this is strange, tried the SB again today after giving it a few days break...my 808s work now, 510 cartos work, but 510 attys are shot (tried 3 of them)

is that unusual? what could be going on?

Do the 510 attys work on anything else? I put my attys on a boxmod and they all work perfectly.

I dont have anything else that will take 510 thread so I cant test them out

Take a look at the bottom of the 510 attys make sure the connector is just a little past the threads you should be able to just feel it, if it's not try pulling it out a little so it's making contact.

I just got my SB back...works perfectly now =D
