The Omega is a good mod as well that has 2 vent holes that the silver bullet does not have. These vent holes help in case the batteries over heat. I was worried about 6v vaping when I started too. I heard the warning and could get them out of my head. But I have been vaping my silverbullet for almost 6 months @6v and they haven't so much as gotten luke warm. Someone else might be able to help out with more technical battery questions.

Make sure the batteries are rechargeable, as was posted. Also make sure to mark your batteries in sets and never ever never use an unmatched set. Batteries need to be the exact same in chrage and age and brand and detail. As soon as you take them out of the package, mark them with some kind of system... AA, BB, CC, DD,... for instance.

You can always pick up a Gooseneck if you're leary. Those are pretty handy even if you're not leary.

Altsmoke also has a PT for the SB. Just plug it into the wall adapter and vape away. Many recommend also using an Enercell adaptor (radio shack for instance) so you can dial it to the exact volt you wish.
