I purchased a silver dragon mod by j2p from my local vape shop a few months ago for a little over $200. I was extremely excited because this is my first authentic mod. Now I am just annoyed because the button constantly gets hot and I am back to using my clones. I have tried everything under the sun to try to fix this issue, and nothing seems to work. I've spoken to a guy at another shop who has one and he said he has the same problem. This has really put a bad taste in my mouth and I never want to think about buying another authentic. I've looked everywhere to find the company "j2p" who is based in the Philippines but I can't find a contact for them. I don't know if they will do anything for me but I would atleast like to tell them about my frustrations. If anyone knows how I can contact them please post or if u know of a specific fix for this mod for the button please enlighten me!!!!

I have had the same exact issue. I absolutely love the silver dragon. The problem is the button seems to be drawing power from the battery and pushing it down instead of up to the RDA. Many people and websites have told me to make a spring out of the copper from a coaxial cable for TV's. Sadly, this hasn't worked yet. The vape shop that I go to's owner and I are both stumped on what to do. I really don't want to give up my silver dragon but at this point its leaving me with no other choice. Does anyone have any other suggestions to help with this issue?

Picked up a Silver Dragon 18650 and had the same issue. I cleaned and polished the threads and switch housing/button heavily with mothers aluminum mag wheel polish (small red jar with white lid) then used a larger diameter spring that was the outside diameter of the inner switch housing from another mod and used a smaller spring on the post (double spring) and resolved the issue with mine. The springs are not heavy and the switch has a medium throw not soft and loose but not too stiff. I'm no longer getting the hot button and the switch feels pretty smooth and nice. The mod is definitely hitting MUCH harder than when I got it and the voltage measure with a .26 ohm RDA .39 which isn't too bad considering it's stainless steel. To compare I threw the same atty on my Viggo copper clone which measured .29. I'm pretty happy with the mod now, it's definitely an eye catcher however the switch isn't the greatest and definitely the weak link on the mod. This too was my first authentic, the reason I bought it is it will not get cloned due to the engraving on it. Unfortunately I'm not 100% happy and feel that it really was not worth the $180.00 I paid for it. Still really nice and not a bad buy, if your a cloud chaser doing crazy builds below .2 and doing comps this definitely is not the mod for you. If your a daily vaper that wants something unique, eye catching, with good performance then perhaps. In summary it's a nice mod but requires a little work. I'll still be looking and trying magnets from other mods to see if I can improve the switch further (which for $180 I shouldn't have to!). I'm not turned off by authentic mods and will probably get another one in copper but overall I still will be using my clones for daily vape when out and about.

Well though I had the issue resolved after a day or so of vaping on it the problem has returned and the double spring setup isn't working out as well as I had hoped. I've sent the company a message at https://www.facebook.com/j2pmods

Also have noticed from images of the 18650 silver dragon online that there appears to be two different switches with different engravings and venting holes in different locations. Hoping there is an upgraded switch or spring assembly that addresses the issue, will keep you posted here.

If you don't get an answer you can call localvapes and ask.

Here's my new baby! Please disregard the hack job on the Taifun. I have more coming to improve my technique.

I cannot find the different button you are referring to. Can you post a link to where you see it? I can't believe there still isn't any upgrades out there for this mod.

Here is my quick fix for the button, I machined a small delrin washer to place on top of the switch.

Made it just large enough to cover the top of the switch and not interfere with the threading on the tube.

Here is a shot of it in the tube:

There is plenty of adjustment on the topcap to make up for the difference in space that this delrin insulator adds so this actually works out quite well.
