Simple question dealing with 510 batteries...

Howdy all,

Long time, no post. If this has been asked already, I do apologize. Just tonight I accidentally dropped my 510 on my tiled floor from my chair... only about 2 feet or so, but seems it was enough to pop off the little plastic cap at the end of the battery, where the light is. In attempting to get it back on, it just wants to fall back out... not getting tight or seeming to stay in place. Has this happened to anybody else, and if so, have you found a way to get it to stay in, shy of using duct tape that is?

Yep, it's happened to me too and in the same way. Consider yourself fortunate that the battery still works, albeit without a cap on the LED.

I just leave it the way it is. You could try glue, but don't gum up the circuitry. Check out the Cosmetic Mods subforum within the Modders forum. This post by vconrad describes how to do something similar using jewelers glue.
