Thanks all.

I ordered a VTC Mini in Black and a Goblin Mini in black as well just for fun.

Eric
Good stuff hope ya like it! Manually adjusted TCR is the bees knees for sure if you enjoy temperature control. Just give me a mod with TCR and I'm golden. I had a mod come in from 3FVape recently that I've been waiting on which uses a function similar to TCR. Been playing with its Nickel Purity since then and just as good as I thought it would be. mod is a bit jank but it was the chip inside I was after.

With the prices on TCR capable mods these days I see no point buying a TC mod that does not have user adjustable TCR.

I got my mini for $42.

I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

Methinks the manufacturers are all scrambling to add this feature. If my limited experience is any guide it’s the adjustable voltage type innovation of the TC world now. I still remember when one had the choice of 3.6v in black, black, and if one was feeling really daring they could order black on black with a toxic rubber-like black covering. (JK)

Something I wish Sigelei would wrap their heads around. Kinda sad that most of the manufacturers have jumped on this with the latest one being Joyetech of course. Since they are set on only hardcoded presets with Ni and now Ti. Should be time to allow upgradability or another mode for TCR.

Get a TreeBox...
Yeah, they look nice but I prefer my zebrawood to be the grips of a 1911. The TB costs within a few dollars of twice what an VTC Mini cost me (FT is about $64 w/o coupon, VTC cost me ~$34 from efun w/o coupon), and what is the real killer for me is it's about 1-1/2 times the size of the VTC Mini.

And FWIW my Mini has been flawless. Which is a lot more than I can say about my smok m80, which is a total [removed] as far as TC goes. Won't see me making a sig line about it, though... ;)

I will dare to look like an idiot if mine melts-down in a few months or weeks, but after just a few days(!) I have become besotted with my little Treebox Mini from Smok. Looks good, vapes excellent once one gets the hang of it and has TCR and temporary resistance override, which I finally found useful today. It eats batteries for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but I have lots of 25Rs on hand and swap them out very easily. You can't beat the price neither... Comes in an exquisite catafalque too.

Smok Treebox Mini
the people that have put the treebox on a scope (DJLsb labs) noted that it was very accurate. the only problem is i have a xcube 2 with all the upgrades and worried it might have that wonky TC function and delay when hitting the fire button, other wise i would push the button on it as its very beautiful

Yes, after watching PBusardo's x-cube mini review I was more than a little concerned, but for the price I figured what the hay. I have dealt with "the pause" before and can live with it. No regrets yet though and with others reporting decent longevity I remain very optimistic and most satisfied with the terrific performance.

What I find I need most now is some sort of squonking feature on my RTA to give it a boost of juice. (Better yet, figure out how to wick it better) I also need to dial-back the flavour percentages of my elixirs, probably by half, because TC with this mod is so much more effective at producing flavour. Just amazing.

edit: I felt it kinda necessary to mention that my liking for this mod has absolutely zero influence on my preferences for this or any other mod or manufacturer. I am not a fanboi for any one nor any thing. As of this date I just happen to very much like this mod, but will always temper my remarks with caution for potential long-term issues, as is made plain in my comments.

Its twice the mod, as in it works and there hasnt been a hint of drama, unlike 2 x VTC Minis i was once afflicted with....wait that sounds like my sig line...

"The TB costs within a few dollars of twice what an VTC Mini cost me"

"the real killer for me is it's about 1-1/2 times the size of the VTC Mini"

Bunkum, and theres a reason why the VTC Mini is so cheap, because its a [removed]. At least Ive owned both, the VTC Mini was a nightmare. The TreeBox is bliss. The TreeBox is also exactly the same height(actually its smaller due to the SX's 510 bump)/depth as my SX Mini, just 3mm wider. Oh, its massive....

For those playing along with the original question: Both these mods do manual TCR

Next youre going to tell me that the SX Mini M is 1.5 times the size of a VTC Mini....

Actually i happen to have a Smok m80 on loan from a friend for a bit of testing, so youre triply [removed] out of luck, except that yes, the m80 isnt a great mod compared to the TreeBox :)

Oh lordy no, i just noticed the TB is 1.5 times the size of the m80

Note: the m80 doesnt do manual TCR, but as im using SS in all these tanks, im using Wire Wizard | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators and with its equivalency calc, im using the Delta II in temp mode on the m80 at 270f (-140f from my normal 410f) to see how the equivalency theory goes....whispy, tried 300f, not much better, gave up and goosed it at 30w in vw mode instead...better

smok x cube mini also has adjustable tcr and a single battery
They also did a firmware update to get rid of the firing delay
Has SS, TI, NI mode and VW, no more buying extra modes, can control it with bluetooth by you phone if you have android 4.4+ or iphone newer versions

You're doing your cause "treebox above all else" no good by spamming every thread you can find that even remotely relates to it. You like it- we get it.

Wonder why you didn't just use CS to get the VTCs straightened out but I'm sure you have your reasons- and I'm equally sure I could care less, seeing as how the VAST majority of Evic VTC Mini owners are enjoying them, having been able to use them correctly. Tell you what- I'll give you $20 for the two of them and I'll split shipping. Something's better than nothing and I'll bet I'll have them working great in no time.

BTW the smok m80 has no TC as we know it- zero. Smok lied and everyone knows this and has moved on. For VW it works fine. But as far as TC goes the m80 is a large turd, although it's probably smaller than a treestump.

Dude, my posts are on topic, your trolls are not. If my experience and gear fits a question or topic, then am i supposed to refrain from offering my experience or advice, just because it seems to upset you. Forums are for questions asked, and questions answered. I answered a question.

Please dont use "we" as though you present a collecton of people who are aggrieved because i answered the OP's question, which was:

Single 18650 mod with adjustable TCR?

You only represent yourself, and your sense that you are the arbiter of whats acceptable on here, apparently. You dont represent anyone but yourself....stop using "we" to give yourself a sense of overinflated importance.

Ive covered my path to trying to have the VTC Mini issue resolved (along with others), and im not going over it to someone who likes to troll and try to act superior. Trying to present yourself as superior (despite not having read what ive been through, which would take the wind out of your superiority complex in about 10 milliseconds) without knowing the first thing about what i and others have been through with trying to get issues with the VTC resolved, is just pure pettiness. I invite you to look at my posts on the VTC Mini and then make a sensible comment. Until then, im not feeding the trolls....
