Apologize if its been asked many times; but I couldn't find a clear answer.
Wondering what the diff is between the single and dual coil carto's at the same resistance ? Is it a matter of preference or is it a difference in vape experience?

I am using 2.5 ohm smoketech dual coils in my smoketech tank on my SS lavatube now. Just wondering if there is a difference in vaping experience? I prefer a warm vape; as most do I'm assuming.

Thanks.

Your dual coil 2.5ohm contains two coils, each of which are 5ohms.
A single coil 2.5ohm carto would contain one coil at 2.5ohms.

The single coil would be warmer, given the same voltage, because it's using 2x as many watts as either one of the 5ohm coils of the dual coil.

The dual coil would be cooler, but produce more vapor since there is more coil area exposed to the juice.

The two have different vaporizing points... so it could make a slight difference... but mostly I'd go with the no significant difference option. Now, the two have different charactoristics though. VG = no TH, but tons of vapor, less flavor. PG = TH, less vapor, more flavor.

As a general rule, you're going to have more issues with the device/batteries when using DCCs than worrying about the PG/VG ratio... wicking issues not withstanding.

I'm allergic to PG, so I vape only 100% VG--is single coil better for VG, is dual coil better, or is there no difference?

I don't believe there would be any difference. I had the best luck with bottom coil clearomizers and 100% VG if it was thick and hadn't been thinned by the juice maker. With bottom coils, gravity is your friend. Thick juice gums up cartomizers pretty quick, though not terribly bad. I still got a week or so out of most of them.

The difference is the amount of coils it has...more coils equal more vapor

It equals more vapor, but at half the watts. Each coil is twice the resistance and puts out half as much heat as a single coil cartomizer of the same resistance. It's like the difference between grilling a steak on one 450 burner or doing it on two 225 degree burners.

OK, I have a question along the same lines I think. Just ordered a silver bullet to try true 3.7v vaping(maybe 6-7.4v later), it came with a dct-v1 and 2.5ohm dual coil carts but since I'm a noob I also ordered some 1.5ohm LR dual coils as well. what kind of a difference should I expect between the two?

One thing you will notice is that your battery life between charges with the 1.5, will be about 60% of the duration you'd get with the 2.5, because the 1.5 will draw more amps.

2.5 ohm DC produce less vapor than 1.5 ohm.. less warm..

A 1.5 ohm DCC is going to draw 2.46667 amps at 3.7v. The battery must support that. If you find it doesn't, you'll need high-drain batteries (or at least a different battery). So check the battery spec sheet.

Use either a protected Li-Ion, or an IMR high-drain depending on the particular battery's specs.

Sailorman's steak grilling example is fantastic. I'll have to remember that...Of course, it's food related so I love it. ;) I think you'll find the DCC at 3.7 a very cool vape. Maybe that's what you're looking for. Otherwise, try 2.0 ohm or 2.3 ohm single coil stuff. You CAN go down to 1.5 ohm (and they make 1.7) but I find 1.5 ohms too hot at 3.7 volts.
