Even after hours of reading and watching videos and trial and error just experimenting doing things on my own (within safe boundaries of course), I feel like i am constantly learning new things.

For instance, for the longest time ive been rebuilding Dual coils within the .2-.8 range trying to perfect my coil building and trying different styles and methods. I got it to where i can rebuild a dual coil pretty quickly and yeah it will vape very well.
Well ive been charging batterys nonstop around the clock and constantly changing out my wicks and going through tons of juice.
I thought to myself "although these .2 and .3 ohm twisted dual coils vape extremely well...im just tired of always charging and rotating between like 10 batterys.

So i went back to a simple single coil this morning, a .6 ohm twisted micro 28 guage with 7 wraps.
Damn, this has been performing just so well, i get tons of vapor production, so much in fact that i am seriously starting to think that if dual coils even do give you any benefits it is only a very minute amount of benefit.

So im not saying dual coils suck, because ive always been a die hard dual coil rebuilder.
But i am saying that now, after revisiting these single coil setups, Single coils offer pretty much the same vape (possibly even a smoother vape) and single coils also have the benefits of charging your batterys less often and going through alot less juice.

Now i know alot of it is how well you build, but i believe i got pretty darn good at building dual coils, and from now on i am gonna be rocking the single coils because i think they are better.
Sorry im just ranting and blogging at this point lol. Just thought id share this experience with you all and see what others thoughts are.

I just saw a video by Bishopheals on Youtube ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5hKkkXTQrY) where he rolled a dual-coil on a Kayfun mini - it was kind of hard to see but it looks like he did it by twisting just the ends of 2 wires together and then rolling a single microcoil . .so like twice the coil exposure and half the resisitance. I'm stuck out of town and don't have any pliers with me to do the twisting - but I'm gonna try that one as soon as I get home.

I tried the build I mentioned above and it's pretty nice. I used 30gage kanthal, twisted just the ends together and rolled a single microcoil. It came out to 1.1ohms. Compared to my usual single wire build, the vape is fuller with a richer taste. I imagine this is similar to a twisted wire coil but gives even more wraps and more wire/wick contact. I had a little trouble getting it even and firing perfectly but it wasn't bad at all - probably really easy with a little more practice.

I've never been a fan of dual coils... I have a dual set up on a Nimbus that's been working very well but I don't really like the open draw so much. Not a lung hit guy. I really like twisting .28 really tight to get a good micro coil out of it, though. On my Reo, I twisted one strand of .28 with one strand of .30ga kanthal. It's working really well. 9 wraps came out to .8 ohms which is a hair lower than I like...I generally like to stay at about 1-1.2 ohms. I also like using the Petar K method with twisted .28 and cotton for my Gennys. I have twisted singles in a Kayfun, a TridentV2, a Reomizer...pretty much everything.

I still like standard micro coils though. I just wish I could get more surface area. I'm ordering some .26 ga kanthal to see if I can get a few more wraps and stay at an ohm or so. Anyone tried it?
