I've completed six days with my 510 Protege' and I really am impressed. The design is the best 3.7 PV I've ever seen. The size is just right for public vaping. It fits nicely into my shirt pocket so anytime I need to go out of my office I just top it off real quickly and put it in my shirt pocket and go. I used to have to keep some stock batteries on hand for this purpose but got annoyed that the short battery life of the stock batts.

I haven't had one single issue with my Protege'. I've been using my own batteries that I've had for several months, some Trustfire and Ultrafire protected batts. The Ultrafires are slightly bigger than the Trustfiles and are a snug fit but they work well. The protection circuit makes them a little bigger than the unprotected batteries.

Now that I've said that, I will say that I still use my Prodigy a lot because I like 5 volts too much and just have to have it sometimes. Some of my flavors taste better at 5 volts and some taste better at 3.7 volts.

I bought some platinum 510 attys and they look very good on the Protege' so I think the SS ones scheduled to be available will look very nice.

All in all I have had a very good experience with the Protege'. I highly recommend it.

Me too me too!

6 days with the Protege and loving every minute of it!

I haven't tried any other mods so the only thing I have to compare it to are my reg 510 batts and my RN4071. The difference is night and day. No longer do I have to swap out batteries after every 4 drops! Vapor is smooth and delicious!

At first, before it arrived, I was little afraid of the size but the size isn't bad at all. It's much smaller than it appears in photos and is easily concealed in you hand for stealth vaping.

I'm looking forward to trying more PS products in the future.

Thanks for keeping me off analogs guys!

I'm sure that I if I had never used 5 volts I would be perfectly satisfied with the Protege'. Problem is that I have experienced 5 volts and I can't go all day without getting a hit off the Prodigy.

I wasn't using my Prodigy for the first few days and was joking about putting it in a glass case. Now I'm alternating them because that 5V hit is so satisfying.

Me too.

About 10 days with mine, always liked the 510 but their batteries where abysmal! The protege has rekindled my 510 appreciation. Solid and last me thru a whole day at work on one battery. The only other atty I use at 3.7 is the 901, but prefer both the 901 and 801 on the Prodigy. Actually thinking about trying the pyramid tea bag cart filler, so I don't have to drip as often, and I'm a confirmed dripper.

Really looking forward to seeing what Steve comes up with for the Prodigy 2, and ordering one of the new pass thrus asap!

7 days with mine. Makes a 510 come alive, looks great, feels great, vapes great!

Great little PV you guys came up with, what's not to love?

Oh yeah, the switch that I just know will one day stick. 8-o

Glad to hear you've got the problem isolated Steve. Still checking the site for switch assemblies for sale so I'll have a back up though. [looks nervously at Protege]

OK Limoncello, you and NekoGurrl convinced me to go ahead and buy the pass through also. The only weakness in the Prodigy and Protege' is the battery. The pass through solves that by giving you a constant stable power source. Since I'm either in front of a PC or behind the wheel of my Jeep. It makes for a device I will use a lot.

I had one of the "Switch Problems" after the first hour and was very disappointed in not being able to use it until the repair came but, I did have the Prodigy to keep me somewhat sane.

I got my replacement/repair the other day (thanks to Casey and her wonderful customer service) and I've got to say that I'm glad it broke in the beginning. I'm so appreciative of the performance, it was worth the wait X2.

I use to only take a 510 setup to work because I Stealth Vape (engineering firm) and had to deal with changing batts constantly and the less than adequate performance from the little machine.
I'd leave the Prodigy in the truck for lunch and the drive home.
Now I have a top performer all day long. Nothing does a 510 like this, not even my Prodigy @ 3.7. I don't know what it is but this thing is a rocket. Love it Love it Love it......

I'm very happy with the Protege. Going to have to get another one for backup.

Wish they'd do a fairwell sale on the original Prodigy's. I'd like to have another one of those also.

Yes I'm going to get one of the new Prodigy's..

Thanks ₧Ѕ

** and if anyone wants to get rid of their original Prodigy I'd be happy to take if off of your hands. Let me know what you want for it.....

I still don't get the attraction of the passthrough, though I'm sure they vape great. I guess I don't consider a battery I have to change maybe twice a day a weakness - not compared to getting an external power source and plugging in and unplugging and having a cord in my way.

The weakness I was talking about is the voltage fall-off. You have to admit that when you put in a fresh battery with a topped off cart you get the biggest hit from the PV. That battery is going to begin dropping voltage very quickly. The last 30% of the battery capacity, to me, is poor performance. With the pass through, the voltage is at peak performance all the time. You will still have the cart performance curve to deal with.

With the battery powered PV when the vapor production falls off you have a mystery. Is the cart running dry or is the battery getting low? The PT eleminates one of those variables.
