Since you're a verified member why not offer it here, I'm sure there would be some interest.

I would love to, but I am afraid of what eBay might do if I pull the auction. I actually started the bid lower than I paid, cause I felt that someone who wanted this device would have a real chance at getting it. If I'm wrong for putting the word out, I will gladly delete my post.

I'm so excited I have a key on the way!!!!!!! :vapor::D:vapor::D

It was a promotion through liking their facebook page and marketing them on social media sites, retweeting their posts etc.

I started out with clones because I didn't understand the advantages of a owning an authentic mod. I have tried some clones with low voltage drops, and let's face it - If you're not sub-ohming then you're right, clones get the job done.

But for all of us sub-ohmer's/cloud chasers, there is a big advantage in using authentic mods with silver plated contacts, any type of device that allows us to push the boundaries safely, and get more vapor. For about a year I was very content with a standard 3 wrap 28g kanthal around 3MM silica strands.

Nowadays it's all about the micro-coils and cotton... My Cartel Mod w/ Stillare V3 loaded with 3 micro coils of 26g G-Plat wire and cotton, reading just around .18ohm is something I love, and any fellow vaper I let try it, falls in love with it as well and usually then offers $____ to buy the mod + atomizer from me lol.

The skeleton key is for connoisseurs, lets face it, if you're using like a Provari with some Vivi Nova tank, you shouldn't even be reading this thread, it's not for you, you wouldn't understand it, you wouldn't understand why we fork out this much hard earned money for a device that does the same thing as yours basically, when you only spent maybe $120.00

What the clone-lovers don't understand is that for most of us high-end mod/atty owners, spending absurd amount of cash for these devices is great, because it's all for the greater good, whatever keeps us off cigarettes...right? When I see someone with a clone, I know why they have clones...they don't really care as much as I do, or they can't afford it. Either way I'm always happy to vape with them or talk about vaping, because we're all improving our lives together..

The fact is, if you're in the industry, you work in the vaping industry, you should be anti-clone because it trashes our market, drives prices down for consumers, which is great for us - but eventually it'll lower the quality bar. You keep letting China in the door, good luck getting the government to approve anything in our industry. High end mods at high prices is good for our industry, it keeps it strong, diverse and robust.

The Skeleton Key is a good leap of progression for this growing industry, The Key is a piece of art, unique, that also helps us stay off cigarettes. To the guy talking about his truck being a better ROI - I imagine he's not into collecting art either. Don't think for moment when I get my key its going to stay in some locked glass box... It'll be my daily vape! I'll keep it at home, not at work, but I'm for sure using that sexy animal all damn day/night.

Really all that needs to happen is- the true mod manufacturers in our growing little industry need to follow suit of other older industries that bubbled a long time ago, and that had experience fighting/selling against the Chinese and their clone army.

In my industry for example, wide format printing and media manufacturing, we own a 150,000 sqft warehouse in Weifang China, and we had to deal with 3rd party (clone) material for years, inks, printers, material, etc. We just decided to move our people (amricans) out to China, and pay them a lot of money to teach the Chinese about western philosophy of QC, and oversee production to keep up with our growing demand. I am not saying for companies to move to China, I'm asking them to help support your growth a little more by not making it so exclusive... they're just leaving themselves open to attack by the clone army.

What the mod manufacturers need to do is make their exclusive mods easier to acquire. I'm also wouldn't want them to drop their pants and drop the price, but make bigger runs, and do runs more frequently. There will always be the crowd of vapers who could care less about owning a knock off, hell look at all the women rockin fake louis vuitton bags.... same type of people, and there will always be people willing just to get a clone. If the true mod manufacturers made their mods more obtainable, they could take away a big chunk of the clone market.

One of my favorite mod manufacturers, Cartel, only does a mod/atty run every 4-5 months... wayy too much time in between runs imo... I see knock off Cartel mods all the time, heck at ECC alone there were more clones that OGs... sad really, but that's business, and China understands demand.

Agreed, I own one authentic, and countless clones. I wanted to support JDTech, since I own so many Stingray clones. I may have just been lucky, but the first site I found after filtering out all the flippers on ebay (screw these people, seriously...1,500 for a mod you paid 200 for. had a couple in stock. I called the shop to have them verify the serial number/where they purchased the mod. (Apparently they have not been released outside the ECC convention.)

Got an HCigar clone a couple weeks back and wanted to post on this thread but I told myself to wait a few weeks and put the clone through its paces. I ended up getting the "no-logo" version which I thought was cool cause I really didn't care for the artwork on it IMO. It's pretty cool but I think the top cap is really too tall for my taste. I've seen the flat top caps for these on this thread and I think they make this mod look absolutely sexy!! I'm not an authentic owner, so no sexy flat top cap for me lol. Now the locking mechanism is what sets this mod apart from the pack and I think it is innovative. But I'm used to a shorter throw so when It's locked, it doesn't feel locked. The throw is about 4mm (guesstimate) and when it's locked it still has a 2mm throw to it but it's locked. Now the top cap being so long hurts the voltage drop on it. I compared it to my copper nemmy clone and the skeleton has a .75 drop compared to the nemmy's .32 drop. I also want to mention that when I do a voltage drop test I run it on the same atty and same battery at 0.32 ohm resistance. I only vape at .32 ohms so I'm not trying to get a low number, I just wanna compare it to something that I know has a great VD. I believe that the length of the top cap has a lot to do with the V drop not being that good so the authentic owners will be better off knowing that they have an option for a flat top cap.
So my thoughts on this is it's a great mod with some great innovative designs. Is it worth the price for an authentic? Of course it is. Just the presentation and packaging alone is awesome for the price of an authentic skeleton. If it wasn't worth it than nobody would buy it. Marquis did an excellent job creating a mod that has set itself apart from a lot of mech mods on the market. I understand that it's a collectible item and hard to get your hands on. I don't agree with marquis going after internet websites for selling clones. Marquis created a product, produced it and sold every product that was produced. They are making a second or third batch and will most likely sell those as well. This is a multi billion dollar a year industry and most high-end mod makers just cannot keep up with the "supply and demand" of this industry. The clones aren't that great of quality (speaking of my HCigar) and if they are, then I feel bad for authentic owners of this mod. I just wish that these high end mod makers would take the next step and keep up with the demand that they have created. Would I ever buy an authentic skeleton key? Probably not. The reason I say no is because the clone has showed me what I want and don't want in a mech mod. And I'm not willing to drop $200-$300 to find out. It's still a great mod just not my cup of tea.

Hi all...just a not-so-lil' addition...I've got more og mech mods than clones in my stable but I have to say that my Skeleton Key clone is fan. effin. tastic. The best clone I've got by far, &...don't shoot me...it out-performs more than one of my authentics (those-who-shall-remain-unnamed). /: Which does NOT necessarily please me. I mean...we WANT the devices, the REAL ones, to work better, don't we?? After all, shelling out $100-$200 (& then some, in the case of the Key) apiece should guarantee us better aesthetics & performance, right?? Alas...not necessarily true. This "Skeleton Key"'s machining is beautiful in every way: weighty (not "tinny") steel; buttery-smooth threads; deep, finely-wrought engravings. It hits like a beast. It has never mis-fired. Its ingenious lock ring works like a charm, & this seems to be the area in which pitfalls are first/most likely to occur. It is not getting scratched or dinged tho' I use it daily & do not baby it. As many others feel, I find it to be too large for my preference, tho' of course this is not due to anything clone-wise, it's the original design. How I hope clone-makers introduce the new flat top cap as this will reduce the size & weight. I do understand scorn for clone-makers but for those of us who can't afford or justify $275...plus tax...if you can even manage to get your sweaty little hands on one...I am grateful to be able to have such a beautifully-made, well-performing device...guilt aside. DAMN their rabid legal team!! & the whole solve-the-riddle thing..."the Marquis" (farting sound) sure has an egalitarianism-be-damned attitude. Yawn...us little people....
