I purchased a Mystic disposable e-cig in a gas station on a whim. It satisfied my cravings but made me wonder what else was available. When I got home, I googled e-cig and I quickly found my way to ECF. I browsed the forums for months, and purchased a kit online. After receiving it and using it for a few days, I knew I had found the answer. I officially became a member in August. ECF has given me so much. The forums are full of helpful information and people. It helped me to figure out what would work for me, and I'll be forever grateful.

Happy Birthday!!!!

I was a PAD+ smoker (Camel Lights) for 16 years. I received my first kit on June 1st, 2012. I smoked and vapes for a few days, and had my last analog on June 5th, 2012. I've been smoke free for 14 weeks and 2 days. It wouldn't have been possible without ECF.

Thanks for the contest, and again, Happy Birthday!

After smoking for 20yrs I bought my first disposable ecig in November of 2011, I went back and forth between smoking and vaping for 2 months, then got a couple 510 kits then egos, and smoked my last analog new years eve,and have been vaping since so it's going on 9 months now I have cut my nic from 36mg to 4mg, I have no plans on totally stopping vaping right now although I plan to continue to cut back on my nic,I just really enjoy all the flavors and mods, there are still so many to try.....

I had a Blu that got me off cigarettes. But I was tired of buying the refills for $10. So I was doing a search and found a youtube video showing how to refill them. Well! That was a revelation, and I went in search of juice. But some pesky forum crap kept showing up every time I would press the search results. Very annoying. So, I bought some juice and promptly lost the vendors name! So, I went in search. And some stupid bulletin board kept showing up in my results! Most annoying thing ever! So I got the juice, but wanted to find out if I still had to buy the things I was refilling from Blu, so I went in search. And guess what? That ever present forum crap filled my search. But THIS time I decided to actually READ what I had found in my search. And promptly joined. It was the beginning of August when I finally joined up and joined that ever present, annoying bulletin board forum thing that wouldn't let me search in peace.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

I quit smoking on July 13th, 2012 when I got my Blu kit. I wasn't looking to quit, I am a 30+ year PAD dedicated nicotine addict. I had tried everything else out there to quit, so had no illusions about dying anything but a smoker. I was just sick of the coughing. It woke me up at night, I hacked up crap every morning. If I laughed, it turned into a coughing jag. I figured if I could just cut down a little by using the Blu it would help right?

But a funny thing happened with that Blu. I didn't crave a cigarette after puffing on it. It mimicked the act of inhaling and blowing out smoke. My hands were busy. What, what?!! Amazing! So, I sucked that thing all day and night and kept the cigarettes at bay. I would maybe light one up now and then, but only when stressed or first thing in the morning. I found I didn't LIKE them as much as I used to. I wanted Java Jolt! Or Vanilla.

And then I found this site, and found out that I didn't have to charge a battery every hour. I could get a better hit, more flavors! MORE, MORE!!! And I found myself having quit cigarettes pretty much altogether. I wasn't gonna die a smoker! I could taste things and smell things and I didn't stink! That was a whole month ago now, and in that time I have had exactly 2 cigarettes. One was at a funeral, the other was alcohol related. But they were just - meh. I wanted RY4, I wanted honey flue cured! I wanted to try new flavors, I wanted MORE, MORE!

And the rest, as they say, is history.

WOOT WOOT ITS SPACEKITTY'S BIRTHDAY!!!! :bday:

ETA: If I win, I am giving a kit to my friend who is using my old Blu LOL

I really want to Thank everyone who has entered so far for taking the time out to share your stories with us!! purring_cat-131.gif

And the rest of you still have plenty of time to enter!!

But of course, I waited until the last minute to enter mine in the post I had saved (#2) and the time ran out on me before I had finished... I had already typed quite a bit, which is no mean feat, since I only use about 3 fingers when I type... LOL!!

So I will try to have one of the Mods put it in there for me, or just do it in a regular post here somewhere... ;)

I've only been a member for four months now, been smoke free for eight months. When i started filling my own cartos, I was getting so frustrated. Started out with another forum, but a lot of the people there were snarkey and sarcastic, had to weed through the stupidness to get any decent answers if any. In doing more searching to find some place, some helpful fortress of knowledge, I came across ECF! Wonderful, wonderful, patient knowledgable fine folks here! Nobody laughs at any questions. I've learned how to fill cartos correctly, how to use tanks, etc., etc. Thanks everyone!

I started smoking after I got divorced 23 years ago. Nine months ago, I discovered e-cigs. For a month I vaped and smoked half and half, then decided to take the plunge. I have been smoke free and vaping full time for eight months. Six months ago, I showed a fellow smoker my e-cig, stick kind at that time, he made a funny face at it. Then recently when our department at work was doing this goofy spotlight a different employee every day in email, I mentioned under "Fun Facts" that I'd been smoke free using e-cigs. That very same smoker came up to me and said he'd been smoke free for seven weeks using e-cigs! Another employee asked me about them because she wants her daughter to quit smoking. The daughter is close to purchasing a disposable from the store to try! Yay for vaping! Let's keep spreading the word!

I found ECF thru google I'm sure ...my little sister had bought a 401 kit online with the help of someone @ work but, couldn't get it to work . So she brought it over to me to figure out :) I was intrigued...so I started searching and reading & reading , lurked for awhile then finally joined, so GLAD I did, that was over 2 years ago !!! I'm sure ECF made the difference in my success compared to my sisters experience....not a computer person & she never liked vaping enough to keep it up & she still smokes.
I am VERY LUCKY to have found ECF & ALL you LOVELY PEOPLE !!! :D

I found ECF by accidently stumbling onto it while researching ecigarettes. My hubby almost bought the ecigarette kit from the mall while shopping for Chrstmas presents a week before christmas and after trying it we decided to look it up online and get all the info about them we could find. ECF had it all. More info then I ever thought possible. We has no idea what a huge community there was for vaping. ECF has been awesome. I have been a member since the end of December 2011. I am so lucky to have found ECF. It helped me choose what type of PV to buy along with atomizers and Cartomizers as well as reviews on juices. If it wasn't for ECf I may have never gotten off e cigarettes as I don't think the mall e cigarette would have been satisfying enough to keep me off analogs so without ECF I may have gone back to smoking.

Also the other members on ECF have been great. Any questions or concerns I had as a new vaper were quickly responded too and everyone has just been so incredibly helpful. ECF is just a great bunch of people who go out of their way to help their fellow vapors.

I had been a smoker for about 21 years! Wow just typing that makes me realize just how long it was. I started smoking when I was 12 and by 14 I was an everyday smoker. I know I started young. I have 4 children and each time I got pregnant I said this time I am going to quit. Needless to say it wasn't that easy. I tried the cutting down method to try to ween myself, the cold turkey, the patches, the pills and just about everything else out there. Nothing worked for me. I felt incredibly guilty smoking while carrying a baby withing my body but I just could never completely quit. I cut down significantly and luckily all my children were born completely healthy but that tells you how strong the addiction is.

My last baby was born October of 2011. 2 months later I tried the ecigs at the mall and decided to do some research and bought my very first Ecig Kit online. My husband and I ordered a Kgo and ego T kit so we each had one of each battery. I bought my last pack the day the kits arrived so I could use them to ween myself off. That pack is still sitting unopened in my closet and I have never smoked another cigarette again and it has now been 9 whole months!!! Both my husband and I are so grateful for vaping and I am sure someday my kids will thank me too. after over 20 years of smoking I was afraid I would always be a smoker and I think without vaping I still would be.
