"Freedom: What it means to me.....
Living in a country--where I have a vote in who runs our government--where I have choices--where I can feel basically safe--where I can participate or have things because progress is encouraged not restricted--where I can choose what religion I believe in--where one can live as do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

It is great to have the freedom to do exactly what we are all doing here. It still amazes me that I now have cyberfriends from all over the world, where not that many years ago, my friends covered a small area of the world...

Happy 4th everyone!!!!

Thank you spacekitty for this great contest!

For my final post in the freedom forum, freedom of thought. I can think outside the box. That is why Americans are so creative. We are encouraged to think wierd things. Much of our schooling is geared to how to think. While many countries teach to the test, it is better to learn creativity. My son has some wierd way to do multiplication. It works for him, so I say go for it.

We are not all expected to conform, in fact a little rebellion is a good thing. Date a biker, smoke a cig, start a rock and roll band. Be a biker, vape, start a bluegrass band.

Do something fun this weekend, and enjoy your freedoms.

Today is all about Freedom and my freedom to remind us all of this:

We enjoy the Freedom to do as we please, (within reason of course), to BBQ with Family and Friends, go to the beach, go to the countryside or the lake, to just stay home if we so choose and reflect on what it means to live in the Land Of The Free. To give solemn respect for those who have fought and died for these freedoms we enjoy. Those who have been injured severely or our POW/MIA's whose fate has not yet been revealed. As we go about our celebrations this 4th of July Celebrating the birth of the country we love so, please take a few moments to remember our fallen and missing so that although they cannot be present with those they love and who love them, they are here with all of us in spirit. Thank you all very much.

Sincerely;
Nate AKA Darth Vapor

This one is not for the contest but I wanted to share my thoughts with all of you wonderful Folks:

"As we all go about our celebrations that we are free to enjoy, let us never forget the cost of that very Freedom. Aerographer's Mate 1st Class Edward Thomas Earhart was a great Sailor, a Great Father, a Great Man and an incredible Friend to everyone who knew him. Joseph M Cerebus was also a Great Man, a Great Sailor and Soldier when he joined the Army National Guard, a Great Father and as well an Incredible Friend. These two Great Men were both killed while serving their country valiantly in the lines of their duties. It is sacrifices such as these that provide us with the Freedoms we hold so near and dear to our hearts. Please as we all go about celebrating this Great Nations Independence, take a moment to reflect on those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for us all and those POW/MIA's whose fates have yet to be revealed and have not come home yet. It is because of the sacrifices they have made that we are able to enjoy this day as we do."

Thank you all for allowing me to share with you something so important to me.
These Two Great Servicemen were both Dear Friends of mine and I am Proud to call them "Shipmates"

So have a Safe and Happy Fourth of July Everyone!!

Sincerely;
Nate aka Darth Vapor
