I picked up this metal shift knob on Etsy. It is made of metal, it is very heavy and thick at the back side. It is hollow and has a switch that would have lit up the eyes. I want to turn it into a pipe mod, but I am going to need the help of a talented modder to get it done. It will fit an 18350 inside the already hollow section. Want it to be purely mechanical and I don't have a lot of money to just throw at it. I think it can be a great showcase piece for someone's mod portfolio. I don't expect the eyes to light up so the switch area can be used for activation instead. I will replace the red lens led eyes with something else if needed or possible. If you are interested in working with me on making this one please let me know.

I can give more and bigger detailed shots and measurements.

That's gonna be a pain in the ... to modify. I think you should check if the metal used is zinc alloy cause if it is it would bubble or partially melt if you have to some soldering using flame. Also since it's a pipe it's not gonna be full mechanical since you will need to fit some wiring for the positive terminal to the atomizer connector. Fitting a mechanical switch on it might require drastic alterations and I don't know if a mechanical switch would fit that skull.

Kinda hard to tell without actually seeing the core of the metal. If you can drill a small hole and see if the residue is yellowish and also if it's hard to drill there's a high chance that it's brass. If it's zinc alloy it will have grey metal residue and it's soft to drill. You can try to get some information from the store you bought it from or if you can find out the manufacturer. I don't know if solder will stick to zinc alloy metal so you should also consider using threaded parts to assemble your mod.
