Hi folks

Just like to give you a little heads up over a problem I've had with Skype.

I never use my Skype account but last week found it had been hacked, and £92 charged to my credit cards through paypal. Skype are useless and do not want to know, cannot even get my account cancelled, Paypal no better saying not their problem.

After a little diggin I found that this problem has been happening for over 2 years and hundreds of people been ripped off, seems Skype do not care less about their customers (only way to contact them by email, which just gets an automated reply).

So be warned - and definatly do not allow Skype to auto top up your account.

Over the years I have lost quite a sum of money through paypal..Although luckily my bank is what was tied to it so if paypal wouldn't take care of it the bank did. I always got my money back. One time I had a 2 thousand and something charge that hit my bank and was declined. It was unathourized through my paypal account....Since then I constantly change my password.

The bad thing about it is its so easy for hackers to get peoples passwords. There are programs made that are specifically designed for the hacker to enter email addresss into and it just sits there and runs passwords until it figures it out. The ones that usually get hacked are people who use similar passwords to there usernames.

Skype on the other hand...I thought was a free service. I had it on my old laptop and used it a couple of times but never had to give a credit card number or anythign of the such so, well I don't know.

All I know is I feel others pain when it comes to identity theft and all that crap...Wish I could just shoot all them mofos...LAZY BUMS ---> GET A JOB!

Thanks for the heads up!

I spend a lot of time travelling outside of the US for long periods of time, usually 18 days a month. Myself and many of the flight attendants that I work with rely on skype to keep in contact with each other as well as their families.

I will pass on the word to my fellow crew members to not set up auto top off, and to change their password regularly.

Again thanks for the heads up!

Safe travels,

for the password cracking programs.. not many ppl really use those.. they are more there for inactive accounts most are hit with keyloggers..

but if you are worried about ppl running lists of passwords till they hit your password.. a simple way to stop this is to put a space or comma in your password.. the space and comma in cracking programs reads as a break sending it to the next word on the list..

so pass, word or pass word.. would only be ran in the cracking programs as pass then it would run word
