Thanks for the help. The vape shop was able to help me get a build in it. I have 26g 6 wraps dual coils 0.35 ohms. What wattage should I be running? How long till the cotton has to be replaced? I am now wicking with cotton bacon version 2.0

No problem, I'm glad they were able to help you get a build in it. Personally I would have gone with .5 ohms or higher with your device. You'd get more coil surface and can dial up your wattage a bit more, but that's just my preference. I get better flavor and vapor production with higher coil surface area. If you're at .35 ohms, I'd say run it around 20-25W if you're getting dry hits at 30W.

When I wick it, how wide of a piece of cotton do I need? 1/4inch?

I'm the wrong person to ask that question. I stopped using cotton a while back and haven't regretted it for a second.

Its not the same cotton too. Is it?

Yep, I've had the same coil/wick set-up in my Silver Play for over a month now. No changes to it at all. But I don't use cotton, the wicks in my build are rayon. I just hit 300 mL this weekend... that's what temp control + rayon will do for you. :D

I'm having an issue filling it. I cant get it full it is like a 1/8 inch away from the top. Also when I fill it juice comes out around the glass section

If juice is coming out from around the glass, then you need to break it down, check your o-rings, and tighten things up. The only reason it would leak around the glass is either a bad o-ring or it's not screwed together tight enough. I fill from the bottom through the little screw. I use a needle tip dropper bottle. Sometimes there will be a little air gap, most of the time not... either way, it's not going to hurt anything, and at 1/8 inch, you're only missing maybe 1/4 mL. Don't sweat the small stuff, man... ;)

When I vape like 2 or 3 hits, smelll it. It smeels like burnt cotton but it doesent taste it. Is this a sign of too much cotton? Can theses be chain vaped?

The atty itself, yeah. I chain vape the crap outta mine. It's probably a little more difficult with cotton. I never could get a cotton build to keep up with high volume chain vaping...

I'm confused. Its now staying stable at 0.35 and havent changeda anything
LOL! Yeah, it sounds like a slightly loose post screw.

When I tweaked my coils I think I departed them a little bit which would then causs them to heat up slower made that's why my ohm changed
Are you using contact coils (where each loop of the coil is touching each other)?
I use spaced coils (where the loops don't touch). Heats more evenly throughout the coil and doesn't gunk up as much.

That could explain the resistance change. Also, the ohm readers that are built into our mods are not completely accurate either. Small changes can affect the resistance read-out. Just keep an eye on it and if it doesn't change too much then just wait until you open it up again and check the post screws.

As for the hot spots, that's one of the things I like about spacing out the coils. Rarely get hot spots, and also with contact coils the middle gets hot first, so there's more chance of burning the wick in the center. When I first started wrapping coils that's all I ever made... now I prefer to keep them spaced out for multiple reasons.

Any time! Also, I'd suggest picking up some 26g Titanium (Grade 1) wire so that you can play with temperature control. It really does work very well. And maybe check out the Rayon thread. Rayon Wick Part 2: Using temp control with titanium coils and rayon wicks I got 35 days out of my last build with no maintenance to the coils or wicks. Just add juice and recharge the batteries...

I got mine from Sally's Beauty Supply (online or B&M)
Look for Graham Cellucotton Box Numbers:
Box #s: 44060 (500 ft), 44043 (3 lbs = 900 ft), 44040 (1200 ft), 44130 (40 ft).

And be sure to check out the Rayon thread that I linked earlier. You'll find all of the tips and tricks there, and everyone in that thread is super friendly and helpful.

There are multiple reasons that a wick can burn:
Too much wattage
Ran out of juice in the tank
Cotton too tight (either in the coil or pinched in the juice channel). That will cause everything "upstream" on the coil side to become dry and then burn.
Chain vaping can also burn the wick if your wick can't keep up with the coil.

Excellent answer there.

If you are going to use big wattage you need big xair to cool the coils.
