2 years into vaping and I'm about to start the DIY journey.... I have 125 ml of 100mg nic base at 25/75 pg/VG. Haven't decided on the final nic strength, shooting for something between 6 and 10mg/ml though.

For ease of measurements and math, thinking I'll most likely go 10mg for the first batch or so.
I know its dependent on the flavorings used and taste, but is 10% flavoring a good starting point?

    Hi rhm3769

It is Very Hard to know what Total Flavoring Percentage a person might Like.

Since newly mixed recipes need to Sit for 3 or 4 days for the Flavor to Fully Develop, I would Suggestion doing Multiple Flavor levels on any Untried Recipe.

I would make four 15ml Test Batches at you target Nicotine mg/ml. And put a piece of Blue Painter Tape of each bottle saying what it is.

    15ml @ 7.5% Total Flavoring
    15ml @ 10.5% Total Flavoring
    15ml @ 12.5% Total Flavoring
    15ml @ 15% Total Flavoring

Then put them all in a Cool, Dark place for 3 ~ 4 Days.

The Key to DIY is Patience. And Keeping Detailed and Accurate Records of EVERYTHING you do to/with a Recipe.

You could also like to try smaller amounts as well. I found the max flavor for what I like in total is only 11% and that is with 10 different flavors. Taste is subjective. Also, some flavors are really strong and might only need 1 drop in a 30 ml. bottle. I would say start out small because it is easier to add than take out. dannyv45's blog | E-Cigarette Forum and also Hoosier blogs are great reads when getting into DIY. Also remember to take a lot of notes.

The amount of flavor you like is also dependent on your vaping equipment. I need more flavor in my lower wattage devices than I do in my dripper.

Lately I've been mixing for my subtank mini - it's sort of "middle of the road" for me, so when I put those juices in a different device there's not a lot of difference in the amount of flavor, altho one of my favorite mixes nearly blew my head off when I put it in the dripper - way too strong there, even tho it was great in the stm!
